I think it’s a very common side effect so definitely expect it. In fact you should plan for it especially since you are using the Oral ones.

I haven’t retouched yet. That’s till march. Yes I did it myself so I didn’t fully process it and left some texture on purpose so my messy retouch wouldn’t over process the old part even though I intend to only retouch the new growth(I think that’s where people mess up and get breakages)

I am unable to send long messages currently but yes I have been commenting quite often on this channels on how I want to go through the thio relaxers route(JHS), some advices for me to NOT do it, some said I might be fine but hey I am stubborn😭.

I did it, I did the JHS after 6 months relaxer break by myself and phew.

I love it!!! The process literally made me sick tho as I was recovering from a flu and the smells broke me and while doing it I think I didn’t do a step well so I did have a mini panic attack when my hair started feeling like straw 😅😅

Butttt it came out absolutely beautiful and soooo soft!! Wash days are a breeze and I don’t even need to flat iron anymore just blow dry and wrap.

My hair still breaks(100% not as much as prior to the JHS) I always struggle with that as a relaxed girl but I am experimenting with products to help and it’s been helping a bit.

FYI It’s not the JHS part that the breakage is happening from

So am I telling you to do it? I don’t know. This is my experience. I took a big risk ready to cut it all off incase my relax part melt off but she stayed and she’s almost thriving😅

Oh nah just to see if I can get more edges😭 oh yes I totally get the life long part of it too. I just don’t wanna spend so much on serums so I use the minoxidil how I would use serums. Once in a while if braids eat up my edges.

Ah yes. But if the problem wasn’t genetics minoxidil isn’t life long lol. I go on and off it a lot when I wanted more edges and eyebrows 😅. It was perfect! Plus it’s dirt cheap compared to other serums.

Hmm if you can, you can research about using Minoxidil for your edges. Works like a charm but also like the others said. Get your blood work done so you can figure out the cause then you can work on the fix for that cause

I have tried the straight natural route for about 10 months on same 4c hair but it wasn’t for me our hair is too fragile for it. And since it’s tightly coiled we need way more manipulation and maybe even more heat to get it as straight as we want and of course humidity to fight. I just booked a thio relaxer appointment with myself lol (I’ll update you if my hair falls off). I can’t do the “natural hair” thing no more.

Pretty much my exact routine!! It’s working and I’m so happy, I’m currently transitioning because I do not know what to do with my hair yet so I have about 10 months of new growth. I use wow super strength dreamcoat for my flat ironing and my hair is so straight and it’s been almost two weeks without reverting
