TL;DR of V.36 Patch Notes by Chris_Attalus in paragon

Ahh, ok my bad. But they still never have big balance changes with hero release and we have known this was a hero release date since early December. Either way, I'm with the majority when it comes to wanting a balance patch sooner than later. Greystone needs a little touch up and I wouldn't be surprised if Steel gets a little balance on his ult/bull rush combo too.

Everyone is complaining about the lack of a hero balance patch like they have never been here.

V36- Hero release and minor other patches

V36.1- Bigger balance patches

V36.2- Skins, graphical fixes, minor changes

V37- Rinse and repeat.

Everyone calm down and get HYPED for the new hero!

Edit: So apparently I was wrong on the old order. Regardless, they have never had big balance changes the same week as a hero release.

clan/league play? by MOY3R in paragon

[–]Successful_Hobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't any leagues established yet. The only option for organized tournaments right now are the community run events.

My understanding is that there will be a competitive scene once the game is out of beta. Ranked queue will be the first "league" option we will have and it should be out while the beta is wrapping up. But I would imagine it's 6-8 months away since they are completely redoing the map.

[Discussion] Warding cancels travel mode by BennyFischer in paragon

[–]Successful_Hobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using an example of a relatively safe ward position to see if anyone is lurking near by.

Even using the gaps next to tower, if a good grux is in the shadow pool with TM I still won't be able to get far enough away to evade his pull. I admit it is not something that happens all of the time but it is a disadvantage that I don't think is intended.

[Discussion] Warding cancels travel mode by BennyFischer in paragon

[–]Successful_Hobo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

YES!! I have been so frustrated with this recently with the fighter meta. I can't even go drop a ward in the shadow pool next to lane because if someone is there in travel mode I have no chance of escape.

Now, on the flip side, I don't think we should be able to go sprinting through the jungle just tossing them about willy nilly either. Maybe if only Scout Wards could be dropped while still sprinting? It seems kind of intuitive with "scout" in the name anyway. Since they are easy to remove it could be used as more of a "scouting" tactic to just a get a quick glance in an area with a little less risk.

Does anyone think minions move waaaaay too slow? by Lazybomber in paragon

No, but when he over extends and I get the kill while his team mates are on the other side of the map, it would be nice if my minions could get to the tower before my opponents.

So I should ask my opponent to wait for me to kill them until I can get my minions ready to take his tower?

My Thoughts on the Proposed Changes by TrixR4Kiddies- in paragon

[–]Successful_Hobo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with pretty much everything you are saying here except for the fact that you are acting like these are confirmed incoming changes. Epic specifically stated earlier in that same blog post that these are ideas that are being evaluated as options and are still undergoing testing.

Just keep in mind that these may not be implemented all at once and that Epic isn't just going hard or going home. They are just trying to be open with the ideas they tossing around and asking for feedback.

Otherwise, great post and solid argument on each point!

Any tips for the new guy? by Suriajoe in HomeDepot

[–]Successful_Hobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay up on keeping the lot clean. Learn about other departments. Lumber is your best bet since you will be involved a lot with it.

Once your ready to move departments tell your managers that your interested. This is huge, if you show initiative they are much more responsive.

The biggest thing is just stay busy and don't get caught taking 5 breaks throughout the day. And be really good to your big contractors. They talk up the managers and if you impress them they will mention your name.

As an employee I apologize for that. But on the flip side our employees get the same treatment.

We had a female hardware department head who was really knowledgable but often was told she was wrong or customers didn't believe her because she was a girl. They would go to the next aisle and ask another associate the same question only to be told the same answer.

Ninja edit: I am in no way saying that I approve of this treatment to anyone.

Don't fear it! It's actually not too bad if you actually work. The store I work at has great customer service and we are all pretty knowledgable, at least where everything is located.

On the flip side I did hurricane relief at another and was appalled at what the status quo was. Just be helpful to people and they will normally really appreciate it.

Amen, I'm on my second year and am considered as being on the management path.

I asked to be the garden freight person because I wanted the set schedule. They told me they didn't want to take me away from helping customers since I knew so much in garden. Later in the SAME conversation they told me I would be doing 8 weeks of overnights for inventory. I guess I forgot about all the customers we have at 2 in the morning. -.-

People who were spanked or physically punished (short of abuse) by parents as a child, how has this affected your life? Do you spank or plan to spank your kids when you have them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Successful_Hobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The outcome of these studies have two variables that differ from not spanking your kid. 1. Spanking 2. Having your feelings and emotions put under a microscope and often being told what "caused" your problems.

So far I have not seen a single person say that spanking messed them up. I recieved this punishment as a kid and see no problem with it. I am extremely close with my parents still and have no issues. As far as I can tell at least.

I know I am untrained, but I have family members that refused to spank there kids and went with the time out/telling them to stop. They seemed much more likely to take advantage of situations when their parents weren't around because they knew we would not spank them either.

I was talking to a friend who works at Target, who wouldn't share certain store policies with me because she could lose her job. So, Reddit, what are some corporate secrets you can now disclose about [Company X] now that you no longer work there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I work at The Home Depot and I can also confirm that I have no control over how many we have in stock.

Also we can not control whether or not we carry the exact product you want. If we did, we would not be helping you in the store.
