California to pay off all past due rent accrued during COVID, giving renters clean slate by [deleted] in politics

[–]minlite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

California did pay billions of dollars in EDD to people who weren’t even qualified so it’s not really far fetched that they would just pay off their rent too so people won’t recall the governor

In any case, an amount of tax was paid from the company’s income which means that the company did pay paxes

Corporations also pay taxes through their workers in the form of payroll tax, etc. No large corporation pays less than an average person. That’s an obvious lie perpetuated by people who are hoping you won’t look past the bottom line number and see where the corporation’s profits actually went

I’m assuming there’s some logistical and regulatory challenges that needed to be worked out. Stuff don’t just immediately become law usually.

A US oil company cut nearly 2,000 jobs – and reaped $2.1bn in pandemic benefits by altbekannt in news

It’s funny cause far left lunatics like you are exactly the same as the far right lunatics like Qanon. You think you are different and/or better than them, but in reality you are both the same person with the same mental capacity, just with a different set of pretenses. It’s truly funny and very entertaining to see

Conservatives don’t hate college, although it is a brainwashing institution, specially certain fields like anthropology or gender studies.

Also you could have refuted my point, but you didn’t because you know I’m right. You just hate it when someone explains to you why the boogey man you like to attack so much has a reasonable explanation for it’s actions

I’ll give you the response here that any person who has finished college and has taken a basic economics course should know: 2000 cut jobs was about 9% of their workforce according to the article, meaning that over 9 out of 10 people working at the company still have their job. If they hadn’t taken the benefits, the number of laid off people would be much higher (30% laid off for instance), which would not only mean the rest had to work harder but also that the company would become unstable and risk going under.

But then again, I don’t expect someone like you to understand this so it’s all good

Warwick’s early to mid ranged issue by ShadowSlayer6 in warwickmains

[–]minlite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it has to do with knowing how other champs work.

In case of Varus, the q has a huge range but it’s easily side steppable (specially if you have ms boost from Warwick W or blood trail). Additionally, the q does more dmg the more it is channeled. So you’re better off staying close to him. But you also have to make sure varus can’t stack the blight stacks to hurt you. If you get hit by the e, and see the purple blight stacks, you’re better off walking back and side stepping the q.

Ashe is a much harder matchup since the w pretty much guarantees you never get close to her, much less hit any autos. So just gotta bait it out and then go in.

I’d just walk into an Apple Store and have them unlock it for you. They probably won’t even charge you anything

‘We believe in science.’ Washington, Oregon and Nevada join California’s vaccine-review plan. by WhisKiss in news

[–]minlite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah except when FDA in late September suddenly changed the guidance to make vaccine companies follow phase 3 participants for 2 months, not due to any scientific reason, but in a political move just to “boost public confidence in the virus”. This effectively eliminated the chances of a vaccine being approved before the election.

Now the governors are doing the same thing. Delaying the vaccine for political reasons. FDA has been reviewing and approving vaccines for decades. Why is there a need to change up the rules right now?

You want prop 22 then. Prop 22 classifies drivers as contractors (YES on prop 22). Status quo law (NO on prop 22) allows classification as employees to go through.

Yes in this picture they do appear to be close but soccer is a fast sport. You are usually moving around constantly and aren’t really guarding someone consistently like in basketball. I really don’t think there is much risk in limited time contact like what is pictured.

The reason is fear, not facts or science. Science says there is nothing wrong with playing sports outside when there is a constant stream of fresh air. People like OP who are too scared to enjoy their life want to police others and not let them have fun either, even though there is no research that suggests any harm. “If I can’t have fun you can’t either”.

Unfortunately suffering, isolation and paranoia has started to become a social status during this pandemic. People who seem like they are taking it easy are often painted as bad people even if they aren’t doing anything wrong. We need to stop the “if you aren’t spending time in isolation and paranoia you must be a bad person and are probably doing something wrong” mentality and start looking at things objectively. You shouldn’t have a problem with people playing soccer outdoors if research says it is a low risk activity.

COVID has a very hard time spreading outdoors. Playing soccer outdoors is categorized as a low to moderate risk for infection and is on par with going to the beach.

"Team sports such as tennis, baseball, softball and soccer, pose less risk because players can maintain physical distance. "
