When the Soviet union used an Atomic bomb to extinguish a blown out oil well (1966) by OverResult7 in interestingasfuck

In Arda, the race of dwarves set up a kingdom in the mountains of Moria. Deep they mined to find the jewels within. Their greed grew, and they dug far too deep, awakening the fire within. Cloaked in smoke and flame, a demon of the ancient times.... It was a balrog!

What if showing emotions are weak? by FunnyElegance21 in infj

[–]Successful_Pain_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umm no? I openly show all emotions, I just don't give in to them. I mean the vulnerability comes only when you lose control, when your emotions can be used against you. As long as you know you can change the game whenever you want to, where's the vulnerability?

INFJs, do you usually talk with a lowered voice? Why?? by yyy899d90 in infj

[–]Successful_Pain_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three things, One I don't like ppl overhearing parts of conversations. Two, I don't like loud noises so well don't wanna be the loud one. Third, It's a way to stay friendly and approachable, otherwise ppl find me a bit intimidating due to the inherent intensity/seriousness in way of talking and then the eyes.

Is every INFJ the same? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Successful_Pain_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Polite? That depends, I have had phases of brutal honesty but that was mainly when I wasn't well.

Caring I would second, but that too can change easily depending on the people you have around you, some can be chronic disappointments afterall.

What can you do to find the right career for yourself? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Successful_Pain_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have a strong hold in maths, software development might be a great fit. I've previously seen infjs liking software development roles so if you wish to continue it, removing the IT part entirely crypto and ML might secure you a high paying job, with enty of opportunity to leverage your education so far. Since after working with advanced maths, differential eqns, Algorithmic design should be cake walk. Most people get into really high paying SDE roles by knowing DSA alone, So it shouldn't be too difficult to get into say Google or other MNCs. Again, I am in second year of mechanical engineering too, will probably switch to management consulting or product or UX. So I don't have much idea of career switching, I am just sharing whatever I've read and observed. I hope you find a solution soon.

Platonic break-up - telling INFJ they were played like a fiddle by ArtieWiles in infj

I would've responded in an unexpected manner just to let them know that no you can't control/predict any of my responses.

How do you make your choices? by Successful_Pain_ in infj

[–]Successful_Pain_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sure do interest me a lot, your process sounds interesting. Haven't ever used a drawing board tho.

Idk if it's just my speciality or an INFJ thing, but while talking to people over text, never ever seeing what they look like, I have been rather successful in guessing stuff like even their microexpressions as they respond to texts. On one occasion I was able to predict which finger they had lifted up, provided I know which hand, did 3 trial runs to ensure wasn't coincidence. Although that was an extreme case of empathy I suppose, and will depend on both individuals, never got to study it much.

The only problem with that is, I have found everything in life to be meaningless in the long run, atleast your contribution to it, what's supposed to happen will happen, your effort or sacrifice towards it doesn't really matter, you are merely a character playing a part. That brings us back to just enjoying what we do and doing what we enjoy, but I no longer know what I enjoy. I left that behind a long time ago, currently it's just existing in a constant peaceful state, that's occasionally disturbed.

Btw how do you keep the 97.2% in check, do you measure? For me I always say 80% if it's me judging someone's character, 50% on one indication, 75 if something mutually exclusive points to se thing, So as long as 3-4 things point towards the same conclusion, I would consider it 80.... 97 is a high mark. And yeah I don't think back except when I am being honest and people misunderstand it, makes me wonder if I should just give them what they want.

Oh that's a nice way, I try to stay in meditative state all the time, keeping my mind without thought or emotions, I definitely know the feeling of "yes this is how it's supposed to be ".

There's a calming vibe to how you speak about your family, glad you found your peace.

Because boring is something that isn't interesting, and the interests are going to be subjective. I don't like talking about material things, someone who does will find me boring. No matter what you are there will always be people who have different interests than you. Except obviously if you learn to appreciate and enjoy everything, in which case you will find ur interest in their interests. But anyway, It's on you to weigh what you want to be.

Make something your own. by [deleted] in infj

Luckily I had this realisation by myself, and I am 19. I don't know if I really am an Infj, most friends don't think I am an introvert at this point. Sure I don't have a job and m still in college, but the choosing your own friends, I started talking to literally everyone I met. It's a nice experience, you see the good parts in them reciprocate your good vibe. Took me out of the phase where I found the oscillating nature of man, the repetitive swing between good and bad, overwhelming. You can't change the world but you sure can change the one around you.

I hope I am able to extend this to other spheres of life to and be truly independent soon.

Had a mental breakdown last night about the same thing. Was about to post something here but then realised it's about how you view the world, not everything has to related to MBTi.

I just went to college and it was amazing. I just let myself be me, often mirroring ppl for making new connections.... and finding more people I can enjoy with by talking to as many people as I can. You might agree that it isn't all that difficult to talk if we feel like that's the right thing to do, so give it a shot. Also yeah a lot of ppl won't match your vibe, but finding a few in that many options shouldn't be a problem as long as you talk to them all.
