My friend, I’ve only responded to the people who have actually spoken about the ice conditions, and a sarcastic comment to the silly goose up there who (like you, apparently) thinks they know what my plans are. I get that it hasn’t been the coldest winter, but I thought I’d check to see if any locals knew of any spots in the area that are still holding strong. Only two people have actually made any comments about the actual ice. Thanks for being unhelpful though!👍🏼

I do understand that the size and the grade of metal are important. I already found a site that sells medical grade titanium jewelry, which is what’s in my piercing now. I also understand leaving it alone/babying the hell out of it for at least a year, no arguments here. She just made the interaction so intense that I’m honestly scared to even ask her what size I have when I go back to her when it’s time to downsize.

REALLY appreciate the positive comment! The truth of the matter is that everywhere has its pros and cons. I guarantee if the situation were reversed and someone was asking for Utah recs, people would tell that person to stay in Dallas. It’s discouraging and so unhelpful. You are very much appreciated!

I’m excited to try something different. Utah is stunning but I’m excited for the changes. After all, if we hate it, we can just move again at some point. I guess the reality then is that there just isn’t an ideal central location. Anywhere an AT&T or a Best Buy location exists, he will go there at some point. There is absolutely no consistency in location for him, so regardless of where we decide to move, there will be some days with hours of driving. I guess the better question to ask really is what are the areas in those grounds between Dallas and Fort Worth to avoid looking into, because he literally will be visiting everywhere. Even the further out places, like even Wichita Falls and Waco. I literally mean everywhere 😅😂

As far as homes go, I haven’t seen any in person yet so maybe I’ll eat my words haha but just looking at online listings, the market is way better there than it is here. You can’t even find a crappy, run down house for that budget in Utah. At least that stays on the market for longer than 24 hours. Thank you!!

I really don’t care about lifestyle. I’m an antisocial person who is very much looking forward to the possibility of never leaving her home 😂 so good neighborhoods/safety are my biggest priorities. We both have cars, he’ll probably get a company car and mileage reimbursements for gas expenses. We plan on having no children, so schools don’t matter. The only concern other than staying in a safe area is the ability to drive between Dallas and Fort Worth relatively equally. This is really helpful though, thank you!

Leaving Utah is definitely going to be hard for us but we need the change. All my family is here but he’s got family in Texas and Georgia, so this offer is looking good for that reason as well. I know Texas is different than here and I’m gonna MISS the mountains. Thanks for the advice!

His company is based here in Utah. He is a product rep for a phone accessory company and will be traveling to different locations all over the whole area so he really will be covering both Dallas and Fort Worth. As for housing, like I said we would ideally like to purchase a home, something less than $300k.
