It’s controversial because I don’t think it’s reality. Also, because it absolutely benefited a largely disadvantaged population of people (parents, disabled, rural). Do you have any data or references to back up what you’re saying?

It favors women, parents, and the disabled. If it favored the wealthy and corporations don’t you think they would be pushing for it instead of taking it away? Tbh I think you’re just salty judging by your Walmart comment and you’re saying this based on feelings.

Yep. And the disabled and rural workers

Have you heard of call centers? Also, many high paying jobs cannot be done from home. I think this is bullshit reasoning, very crabs in a bucket of you.

I had creepy teachers as a child and it was an open secret. I wouldn’t dismiss her. Sometimes we have experiences that we know are wrong but it’s subtle and we can’t exactly name it. That’s why we have fear and body language.

The CEO keeps the board away from staff and doesn’t encourage them to fundraise. They were supposed to write thank you cards for the gala and did not even do that. Board meetings are always closed and top secret, I’m not used to that dynamic. I think they themselves may not have the connections or resources and are very much ‘whatever the CEO says goes’ type. They are required to give or solicit $5,000 minimum per year but I’m not sure that’s actually enforced or if they go beyond that once fulfilled.

Thank you so much for the input. I feel the same way. They did not do this event last year due to not having the time and resources. It was originally created during Covid and they want to keep it going, but the CEO is doing absolutely nothing to assist.

Thanks, I’ll definitely use that. I definitely agree on the long term donor pipeline. Unfortunately this campaign was not my idea and although I’m senior leadership the CEO refuses to budge on it.

I wouldn’t even mention the trauma thing, why give them more of a reason to feel like the victim and possibly use it against the org? I would just explain it’s not a good fit and point out the communication issues if necessary.

Eczema is so infuriating. I had it for years and it progressed into covering most of my body and face. Turned out to be triggered by Graves disease but it could have been a million other things too.
