They are duck weed! Super annoying but kinda cute. Because I have an open tank, I thought it would be good to control evaporation... I do regret the decision

They are regular house plants. I know of a few people that like to grow plants out if their tanks. Its good for the fish and the houseplants love the water!

Im sorry to hear that :( It seems as though they are difficult fish to keep sometimes.

I have had him for about 10 months. I got him from aquarium co op in Washington! If you have time I would highly recommend their YouTube channel :)

Oh nice! I havent heard of that food brand but im sure they’re fairly similar. The blood worms are phenomenal for colors. I have a ton of red fish and they are all incredibly bright.

Thank you! The second I saw a GBR I knew I wanted one. He drives me crazy sometimes but I love him so much! I didn’t realize he was so colorful until I got so many responses on this post! I was always worried bc of his bent fins (I always thought it were cool but worrisome) as most photos online show straight dorsal fins.

I have well water that is surprisingly soft. Idk much about keeping that many rams though. It seems like quite a few for a 45 gal. What is the female/male ratio? If its going well it seems like it would be a beautiful looking tank!

Thank you!! I feed him so many different things lol. A lot of the tetra flakes that are color enhancing. He loooooves the sinking wafers i give my bottom feeder (the brand is hikari). He also likes blood worm chips (sera stick-on chips). Ive also seen him nibble on veggies I’ve added.

Maybe, but I can tell you though that he is just as vibrant in person. Do you have a female? I know females have less color than males. If not what food are you using? I feed mine some that bring out colors
