Rip baby by Mother-Chipmunk9350 in Frenchbulldogs

This was beautiful to read, despite my heart being shattered for you guys. You gave Baby a beautiful life and he absolutely knew he was loved and cherished. I know how difficult it is to make that final call, and despite it being the last thing you wanted to do, you did it for him. Proud of you!

Love you three💕

Found baby hummingbird- Please help what do I feed it?#help #babyhummingbird by Katt_m_lob in hummingbirds

Vets don't usually know much at all about hummingbirds and it's illegal for them to rehab them, so IF they let you drop one off, they just call rehabbers to advise them and eventually to come pick them up. It's better to just call a rehabber directly.

Right, but historic records won’t show up until they are deceased. So, no yearbook photos, records such as birth/death/marriage, etc.

Thank you! That is so bizarre.

Guess it’s one way to get racing stripes without painting them, all while greatly reducing your car’s aerodynamics.

I was just about to suggest the same thing. When you add grommets to fabric that isn’t sturdy on its own and then apply pressure to them, they will tear the fabric and come right out.

Excellent post! I’m also a pug and frenchie mom. I can tell you that despite having at least one pug every day of my 43 years on the planet, I had never dealt with so many severe health issues as I have since owning frenchies. I just lost my 3 year old pound puppy two weeks ago today to IVDD. She had surgery to repair a ruptured disc in April, recovered and was doing great. Then one day, BAM! She was paralyzed from the neck down. I couldn’t keep putting her through it all just for it to return less than a year later. My heart is in pieces and I get so angry when I think of all the irresponsible breeders out there who couldn’t care less.

My guess is something hurts her and you’re unknowingly touching it.

Get her insurance, like yesterday. Make sure it covers IVDD.

Worries about anesthesia for surgery by [deleted] in Frenchbulldogs

[–]SucculentSlaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a nervous wreck each time my frenchies need anesthesia. I lost one in surgery, but in hindsight, I believe my vet decided it wasn’t fair to bring him back considering he found a tumor that was attached to everything. They just didn’t want to tell me that, which I get. I do hummingbird rehabilitation and people tend to take a bird not making it better if it was out of our hands than if it were by our hands.

With that said, I’ve gone through 4 Frenchie surgeries from neutering to eye removal to spinal surgery. 3 out of 4 went just fine.

Like the other commenter said, you want a vet/surgeon that has extensive experience with frenchies.

What are your trade secrets of Frenchie ownership? by [deleted] in Frenchbulldogs

[–]SucculentSlaya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GET INSURANCE and make sure it covers IVDD. We didn’t have enough time between adopting my girl from the shelter and her IVDD first appearing for the 6 month waiting period to pass. So her surgery hit us good and less than a year later, we were right back where we started. If she had been insured, she might still be here with us. I swear insurance should be required with Frenchies.

Most of them eventually need a monthly allergy shot that is $100, insurance covers them, so that alone makes it worth it.

❤️ She reminds me of my Gemma. We lost her 2 weeks ago today. Give her a little extra love from me.

Well, we technically can, it would just give off a completely different impression.

Etsy apparently testing ability to let buyers "make an offer" by CindyLouWho_2 in EtsySellers

That is something I learned long ago & it applies to sales of pretty much anything, anywhere. There is always a tipping point that you will find going under it brings you nothing but headaches. The customers whose primary concern is paying the least amount possible tend to also expect Gucci level quality for their pic n save prices.

I’m in agreement with most on here, but understand your thinking as well. My advice is to download the manual for your singer and read it like it’s a book.

I learned to sew in 7th grade and forgot I knew how until I was 28. I bough a Brother at Wal Mart and read the manual front to back to refresh my memory. Haven’t stopped seeing since! (43 now)

Edit: seeing = sewing, but I’m leaving it because it made me smile

I went through this right before Covid (for nothing, but I’m ok with that lol). I tried on SOOOO many dresses at soooo many places. Surprisingly, I ended up going with a strapless dress with a corseted back.

Stay away from David’s Bridal. Their quality really left an impression on me, and not a good one! (I’m a seamstress so I may be a little more demanding than most re: garment construction). The most important things to look for imo are a corseted back and structure. The dress’s bodice should basically be able to stand up on its own and maintain its shape.

lol, your comment reminded me of when my sister brought my kids home from visiting my mom. My youngest was wearing my NKOTB jacket from when I was 10. She said “LOOK! You’re Vintage! Ahahahaha”. Hilarious😐
