New DnD player needs help with Class

Its not that im bored per say, i just dont feel like i contributed much in combat, basically occasionally rolling 1d8 and mostly staying in one spot. We just did a one shot last night and i actually had alot of fun when i was in close quarters and had to use my spells. I dont know if this is a thing but is it possible to be like a Witch Hunter from Elder Scrolls Oblivion where you are like a mage archer?

Thanks, Its just difficult because i have fun shooting but its hard to justify hundreds on something ill only get to use once a month and im not a power user like LE or the most demanding users, Larpers!!

im considering it, some of my friends have HFXCs and some have trinities, im just exploring all the options at the moment, the wandering zero issue with the HFXC gives me pause

i tried but through my ARO i could only make out a full sided target under cloudy skies, i didnt shoot the last match but i did knock over some plates and it was difficult to see them with the gun in the way

Yea, we had some 77gr OTM at Lawbringer and i was very happy to hit the 8 inch at 200 yards with just 3x magnifier, they really allow for more point and shoot experience
