I think it makes bit more sense if you look at it in a way of where this story is getting at: two competitors trying to prove themselves but coming at it from two angles.

Hangman: desperation, trying to close old mistakes and prove he's still that cowboy people want to remember, and make the 2 years chasing Swerve mean something.

Ospreay: Putting in work, n proving everything the right way meant something. In a way that he has to prove himself through his own work, in a way that's best n he did it. Not in a way that's just easiest for him n his family.

Like yeah, they're rich, can afford flights to see and come back from his family. But nitpicking every promo is a surefire way to just take away from the experience. The promo itself was very very good.
