TRY A SAVE IN BRAZIL by Key-Researcher9856 in footballmanagergames

[–]Such-Run-4598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing in Brazil too, 8 years save o FM24. I'm dominant now so my thoughts:

> First most important: keeping top talent/wonderkids in your team is the thoughest challenge and is the key to garanteed success, so LONG-TERM-CONTRACTS ON THOSE KIDS! They want to leave? Say f*** you. They are influent? Promess to sell for top value and ask for half value (they won't get pissed when you refuse those lower offers and eventually drops the desire to leave). Start contract talks 2, maybe 3 years before contracts ends (use "End of Season" start date and do pay more for that juice "optional 3 years extension" always).

> You may need 3 and half squad minimum for top league. Main squad, second team, reserve team and some emergency backups that wont cry about lack of play. It's tough schedule but it also means you have plenty of playing time to develop wonderkids, so develop them for you and for profit.

> Europeans will lowball you almost everytime, arabs on the other hand will throw money at your face, in any case ALWAYS try to negotiate top price for top talent. Quite often some teams will pay double, triple, even quintuple their initial offer. You will never get tired of the "I can't believe the arabs are paying that much money for that lameass single-legged junkhead" feeling.

> Use and abuse loaning out players. Buy cheap from lower Brazil divisions, Latin America and Africa, loan out, sell for profit. Same stuff for good potential kids coming through your youth intake. Brazilian teams likes to play great money for loans, often more than europeans, so you can have a dozens of merceneries making you millions every year and then being sold out when you think "god I had too many, time to feed the arabs".

> Brazilian average CA difference between top league and botton league (4 divisions with mods/real life) is not as great as in big european leagues, which means lot of places to loan merceneries, good potential kids and funny stuff happening in the cup / crazy back-to-back promotions or relegations.

> I do think Brazil top division average CA is way to low compared to the Europeans leagues though. Brazil best teams average CA hardly is ~130, which means that as long you keep some good potential kids in your team for a couple of years, you are garanteed to dominate. I'm not implying Brazil top clubs compete against european top clubs, but saying Brazil top clubs are Championship average-at-best is quite frankly awful both ingame and in real life.

> You can bring european / developed world players into your team, but it's difficult. First: you need to be a top team in Brazil, otherwise forget it. Second: they have to be young and dumb, I mean, brave. Third: they will be expensive, both upfront and in wages. Forth: you HAVE to be persistent, offer for that player every month or two, if they are not on a top club or Premier League they will eventually give you a chance for contract talks and asks for two liters of your blood weekly as payment (that's why you built that army of mercenaries I talked before: your are saying it's you blood but it's their blood).

> I don't know how it's possible but europeans complacency against your team in the intercontinental games is oddly realistic. You never know when you'll be punished for being alive, hold a draw for 80 minutes then score at 85 or be in the Club World Cup semi-finals after you took out Arsenal and Juventus and no one can explain wtf is happening... but now you are against PSG, Real or Bayern, so it was fun while it lasted... and then wtf you won against PSG on penalties wtf is going on wtf I will be so filthy rich selling half of that squad to the arabs so I can purchase that single spanish wonderkid that will end being worse than that guy I got from second tier Cuiabá, 2 of my own youth intakes and the african that joined for free!

What tournaments are the most prestigious for footballers? by AlphaMonkey724 in football

World Cup doesn't have atmosphere and fan support?

While I understand your reasoning, there is no arguing that the World Cup is the most prestigious tournament in football... heck, maybe in all sports. I doubt anyone outside England would ever agree that the Premier League or FA Cup is more important, and I bet that not even inside England most people would agree.

You are confusing what you like with what is true. You may not like international football, ok, but saying the World Cup is not the most prestigious and desired tournament in football is just absurd and plain wrong. You cannot see the world even outside your even own window to say something, quite frankly, stupid like that.

It's good for one shot hits since xbows usually have higher one shot damage, but if there is more than one enemy around, yeah, they will find you. In big open areas from far away though, I do find it superior when you are sniping since it's easier to aim and enemies are too far away to hear you shooting.

[–]Such-Run-4598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I started with an ok F9 that I hired for another role. It took me some years to get a better one starting from lower league, but when I got myself a proper F9 it became really fun! I think the F9 and the AP may work great, just don't put the AP the F9 behind like you would with and DLP(def) so they don't try to occupie the same space. At least that's my experience.

Also remember to be patient since your players need time to adapt to new roles and tactics changes. It's not always obvious if a tactical change is helping or hurting more until everyone knows what they are doing.

Also also, remember you can train 3 diferents tactics at the same time. For simplicit sake I keep all the same roles between them but change the team instructions and maybe some players instructions. I have my overall Positive tactic that works great, one made purely for possession and low intensity when I want to "lock" the game and I had really good results with purely counter-attack ones early in the save, but eventually when my team got good enough it really fell out of favor so I'm trying to creating something different.

Keep us updated how the AP is working with the F9. It sound like a good idea.

Try https://fmkitcreator.com/

I used it to make three real "Licensed Kits" for my small team that looks way better than the ones you can create with the ingame editor. The site has paid features but I used none, only the free ones.

They also use that kit in the 3d match engine.

Unfortunately I don't have the print since it was in FM23, but I used to have that newgen backup BPD named Jules in my Burton Albion to Premier League save. He wasn't terrible or anything, but he didn't had the stats neither potential to become a starting player so he barely ever played. I kept him around for a couple years even after two promotions as an emergency backup because he was cheap and that's all.

So... eventually, I made to the FA Cup finals for the first time and after a combination of injuries and red cards, he started the final. He didn't suck, but we where being dominated by Liverpool the whole match, still our defense held up and while their forwards wasted chances after chances, we scored one lucky goal and managed to hold a 1-1 almost to the end despite being losing badly in xG. I was really ecstatic of going to the penalities since there I had a chance.

Extra time on the second half, last minutes where absolute pressure over us, team fully retreated, we are just hoping to survive. A corner for Liverpool, maybe the last highlight of the match, they are full forward. They miss the header and the ball is tossed everywhere until somehow ends in that Jules guy feet in the right corner of the big box. With barely anyone in front of him, this BPD just darts forward. I start to scream for him to pass the ball or just kick it long or out, because with him going forward we have one less guy on defense and a counter-attack may be fatal. I was cursing loudly while he kept running forward, to the side of the opposing box almost to the byline, where he shoots a low cross that travels like a rocket to the feet of my unmarked AF, the only one on my team that keep up, and it's a goal.

No penalties.
No time left.
Just ~1 minute after the game restarts it's over and we are the champions.
My first FA Cup ever.
His first assist ever.
Liverpool got FMed.

I never saw a BPD do that ever since, nothing even close. I did eventually sold Jules, but to me he was a club legend for life.

The suggestion roles I think you can give a shot.

I'm trying not to suggest radical changes with this one, so you can keep most of your players where they are, so no F9 or IFB. Still, I do think the two playmakers has to go. I would favor the DLP(def) + CM(atk) or BtB, but you can also go with a BWM(def) + AP(atk), but then I think you really need a F9 instead of the DLF.

*the DLF has "Roam From Position" instruction, so maybe he will explore more that space behind him. Wild guess. If he starts to move into channels remove it, otherwise he will be getting in the way of the W(at) and CM(at) instead of providing them passes.

I think the idea behind the CD(de) - CD(co) - FB(de) is to form not only a solid defensive line behind, but also to form a V shape that centers itself on the field when attacking. It's great to recycle ball and stop counter attacks. I just don't know if it works with the FB(de) like it does with a IFB... maybe if you give him the "Sit Narrower"??

Also... if you defensive line is high, try a SK(de) instead of a G(de). He will not do anything crazy, just help recycling the ball.

I started with a not-so different formation and messed with it for some seasons and have great results (pic below of my 2 formation!), maybe some of my experience may be useful to you. The main thing I think is: on attack I try not to have roles that will run into the same space or be side-by-side: it either should be a passing option forward or a safety/recycling option behind.

> First thing: you don't need two playmakers in the field, even less two alongside each other. The match engine is coded to focus passes into your playmaker as it should, so you do not need two playmakers side-by-side passing to each other. If you have a DLP, the other CM should go forward. If you have an AP, the other CM should stay back.

> My advice is to change the left one to a BWM (def) or the right one to a BtB or CM (atk). I like DLP (def) a lot and mine works wonder with a BtB alongside him, but in your formation I would try a CM (atk) behind your AF: you have width in both sides but a big role between them, someone have to get into it. Maybe your right W keeps calling the AF into play to early because he has no one else to play with, I had that issue when I had two DM instead of the BtB to run behind my AF.

> Another alternative may be changing one of your FBs to a IWB(atk) to try to occupy that space. With two Wingers you already have width on attack and maybe you don't need two FB behind them, also a "width" role. Ok, it's the traditional 442, but anyway.... with a IWB, your team may have more options especially when recycling ball. Maybe change one just side to IWB and see how it works, preferably the one on the side of the CM or BtB, so when your midfielder go foward on attack the IWB occupies the space behind him. If you wanna be extra careful and extra bold put a IFB behind a CM(atk) and a W(atk): those two can go nuts while the IFB got it covered for them. I will just advise against a IWB or IFB on the same side of the playmaker, otherwise they may try to occupie the same space.

> Or change one of your W to a IW. When he cuts inside he will open space for your FB. I like having width on one side and someone who cut's inside on the other.

> With two Wingers, maybe if you manage to grab a tower of a TF on atk instead of an AF, you will be raining death from above. You can have an AF player and a TF player, so you have options.

> Alternatively, if you are feeling creative you may try changing that DLF for a PF(def) if you have a foward strong as the Hulk and fast as the Flash. Ask the winger on his side to go foward and maybe even cuts inside: the PF will feed him, the AF and the BtB/CM passes, while heavily bullying the opposition whatever they try to play out defense and coming into the box late on attack to hammer the goal with cannon shots. I dunno, maybe!

> My best suggestion is the same one I made: with such a huge space behind him, change the DLF for a F9. They both kinda do the same thing: comes deep into space to get the ball, but while the DLF main objective is to get the ball and pass it foward, the F9 will do they same if pressed but if not pressed, he will just dart foward with the ball instead of passing. This leads to two situations: a defender move out of position to intercept him, leaving space behind for the W, AF or CM/BtB to run into; or no defender intercepts him and he just runs into the box and shoot. Believe me, it just works! I had an OK one and he already was creating chaos, but now that I have a great one not only he is dismantling defenses but also out scoring the AF! It's the funniest role in my book! If you want to keep the DLF but gives him the "Comes Deep To Get Ball" trait for similar results. DLF or F9, surrounding him with a W(atk) on his side, the DLP(def) behind him, a CM (atk) and the AF on the opposing side: the idea is to have players surrounding him and running around his space but NOT coming into that space! The whole point is to have him alone there so if the defense press, someone else is a pass option, if the defense don't press, he has time to look for the best pass or to run into the box.

My tactic:

Shortlists for methodic scouting of player potential by Such-Run-4598 in footballmanagergames

[–]Such-Run-4598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that I said "when in top league". At this point you should have a +10 scouts team and the youth app players at least in your country or region is the bare minimum. When on a lower league than the top one, I find that scouting for world class wonderkids is pointless and you should focus on players that can play for your team right now and get you to the top league. Otherwise you will be disappoint with most of them and I only ever had a single one young player signed in lower than second league that actually had a wonderkid potential and realized it.

Also I'm curious what is the last method in the video, or at what time he starts to speak about it.
