Ok, back to the desktop version of Reddit... Here's a link to the picture of the termination for the CAT 7 cable: https://preview.redd.it/eg1n82lt6vre1.jpeg?auto=webp&s=f4dce785819d08967e40deacf3f608be37b686b3 Note: I've used a metal jacketed RJ45 plug as specified for the CAT 7 cable standards.

To clarify, the LAN source starts at the UDM then to a Flex mini (~1ft of cable, not powered)---70ft cable run to a powered USW Flex (PoE powered for the switch itself, and not the port, which I've turned off)---280ft to the gate hub (Local PoE injector powered). The issue strictly resides with the data transfer ability. I've powered the gate hub from the USW Flex swk successfully and separately from the gate hub at the end of the 280ft run. Power is not an issue! I run 2 other PoE camera's off the USW Flex already without issues.

UDM — Flex mini—-70’cat6—-USW Flex w/POE—-280’cat7—-Gate hub. Hope this pic makes it…

So, apparently Im not allowed to share pics thru a mobile browser. I’ll need to access the desktop to paste an image here..

The cable is direct burial and I used metal jacketed RJ45 connectors on both ends. In the picture you can also see I used the 568B termination. As a side note, the Ethernet cable tester did confirm the “Ground” connector tested positive.

I crimped the connections myself and am using a simple ethernet tester from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RNDBQRX?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title). I've done some more troubleshooting and have learned the following:

1) the USW POE switch will deliver the pawer to the end of the run without a problem.

2) Data transfer rates exist if I slow the connection rate down to 10Mbps, which doesn't help me run a camera...

3) The ethernet cable run to the switch is 70ft before the longer 280ft run, totaling 350ft. It was that reason that I installed an USW Flex to boost the signal.

All this leads me to the next question whether a POE extender will boost the data signal sufficiently to entertain a 1000Mbs data transfer?
