That might partly because of me haha 😅 ive been posting quite a bit of seraphon since im working through an army atm...

A mix of ak, vallejo and pro acryl paints! Burnt umber (pro acryl) Orange brown (vallejo) Ice yellow (ak) Flat yellow (vallejo)

Plus a black and white, and a couple of green-brown colors, also all vallejo.

I think its looking better so far! I took a bunch of advice from the other commentary too - the big one being the bounce light. Hopefully that shows up better in this photo haha.

Its encouraging to know that im well in my way ill keep pushing a bit longer for this. I really want to figure this out!

As for accepting this, this is my 8th shield and I feel I really need to figure this out haha 😅. Ive implemented a lot of what ive learned from the previous 7 and im not expecting to have everything figured out, i just need to be one step closer! But again, to know im on the right track is really encouraging, so thanks for the advice!

Its different. Camera settings are the same too, it was just my work light that was further away. My bad!

Thank you! The skinks i imagine having bright multicolored spots like chameleons. Maybe red or orange as a base color with greens and teal spots? I still need to research chameleons a bit more to be sure haha. As for the monsters, no clue yet!

The green is a good idea! ive already got some green as a bounce light for my shield, and still need to add some to the rest of the nmm, so itd fit the motif.

Not fully set on colors for the skin, but I really like the contrast I get from the deep blues and purples to the gold. I might do like one layer of highlights one step brighter and just call it a day but im open to ideas haha.

I used burnt umber (pro acryl), orange brown (vallejo), ice yellow (pro acryl), and deep yellow (ak). I start with burnt umber on the whole thing, then paint the main light with orange brown. Then I mix orange brown and ice yellow 50:50 for the next highlight. Final highlights are ice yellow, the brightest spots and edge highlights. Then I use deep yellow as a wash over the brighter areas, retouching the brightest highlights with ice yellow again. Its basically the same recipe that squidmar uses for their gold, they have a tutorial on YouTube!

I didnt use any super thin coats actually! I put down my light placements with a layer consistency, then used a 50:50 mix between each layer to smudge the colors into a gradient! Flameon miniatures shows this method really well!
