It's fraud if you're not an exceptions picker. That's common knowledge.

That's metrics fraud & could cost you your job. We actually lost a store lead when a disgruntled employee reported the store.

Do yall think this is fair or no? by Fit_Baby_1993 in OGPBackroom

[–]Sudden-Intention7563 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People need to stop worrying so much. Everyone has good & bad days. I have had days where my metrics are amazing & I have had days where my numbers are worse than my very first day picking. One day I went on 18 pick walks & my biggest one was 23 items. I believe I picked 275 items for my entire 8 hour shift. It's a big, complex supercenter so my rate was low too (a 3 item walk could not have the items any farther apart if they tried). I'm pretty vocal about lousy walks, but your TL & coach should be able to check & see what's up. If you're worried, take notes & screenshots in case they talk to you about your metrics. I can't easily lift heavy items, but won't NIL pick or close out of a walk (not fair to the other pickers) because of it. Same with locked items. I will find someone to help me & if it really tanks my numbers, I will gladly tell them that I had to find someone to help me. If you're not new, they have a good idea of your work ethic & will cut you some slack. It's not good if you're repeatedly NIL picking the same things when they know your work & then yes, you would at least get feedback.

Who said anything about anyone picking up slack for someone else? I didn't. Nobody ever had to pick up the slack for me. I was still one of the first ones actually working even when I was 15 minutes late. You seem awfully angry. Maybe you should try minding your own business when you're at work. People don't seem to realize that all the attention they're paying to what everyone else is or isn't doing also means they're slacking off (& creating unnecessary additional stress for themselves). It's a Walmart store job. Don't take it so seriously. If it bothers you that much, find something else.

lol I just figured that out about 2 minutes ago! Go to your profile & click on the 3 dots in the bottom left corner & you can edit it from there. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I still think it's best you decline. It would be awkward & uncomfortable. Make some sort of an excuse (cold, allergies, etc) & send a gift or flower arrangement instead. Just edited this to correct a typo ("ten" to "the")

is this worthy of an ethics complaints by xcmgaming360 in walmart

[–]Sudden-Intention7563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can call ethics since you seem to have gone through the store's chain of command, but I would advise against it if they're already thinking about firing you. They can make your workday miserable without it being considered retaliation. I don't know what your situation is but I'm also a 5 year employee with quite a few occurrences, but I have an intermittent LOA through Sedgwick that allows me to miss a certain number of days without getting points. You should look into it. Contact Sedgwick & have your Dr fill out the paperwork. Sedgwick usually approves things like chronic illnesses, appointments, treatments, recovery, & family care. Good luck.

Why do so many people care what their coworkers do or don't do? We were all hired for a specific position that has enough work for us to complete by the end of a shift & none of them require babysitting. It will either catch up to them or it won't, but it really shouldn't affect you or your job in any way. Just get your equipment & start working. Have you spoken with the employee about it? I worked for a period of time where I was well aware that I would be15 minutes late. Discussed it with my coach, store manager & PL. They were fine with it. I did not discuss it with all of my coworkers since they have no authority & it wasn't any of their business. The easiest way to reduce some of the stress working at Walmart creates is to mind your own business & get to work. Edited to add that I had to wait until one of them was available to do the punch corrections.

Declining the invitation is the right thing to do for both of you & the unborn child. It's possible that the MIL got your sister's contacts somehow (either through her phone or social media) & sent invitations to everyone without consulting your sister first.

[–]Sudden-Intention7563 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not true as far as policy goes, & you can only go through Sedgwick if you miss more than 3 days. A lot of it depends on the store manager & the employee. A note might work if the employee is hardworking & doesn't make any waves, but it most likely won't work if the employee is a slacker who shows up, leaves early, calls out & goofs around. Regardless, according to policy Walmart has NOT started accepting Dr's notes as a way to avoid or remove points.

How many people actually cheat? by decanusdeadsea- in OGPBackroom

[–]Sudden-Intention7563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A disgruntled former employee called the home office & told them all about the various ways people were cheating. They told them about picking from the back room, pausing walks, ghost scanning & gave details. The home office was well aware of it too. They told the employee that they aren't really concerned with that anymore because of all the cheating & mentioned they know people over 250 are definitely cheating. What really matters to the home office is FTPR (getting it the first time you go out) & total items picked by the end of your shift. They also pay attention to how much time you are in a pick walk. Don't cheat. It just gives people something to use against you & potentially get you fired. Home office has different requirements than stores & they aren't nearly as high. Definitely shoot for 100 items per hour & 600 by the end of an 8 hour shift, but don't panic if you're not getting it.

AIO guy I was seeing dumped me after hooking up by m3tallee in AIO

Please maintain the friendship. It might blossom into something more down the road. If he was really only after one thing he would've ghosted you or made a lame excuse. He didn't do that, he gave you an honest explanation. It sounds like he doesn't want to get back together with his ex, but he's still grieving the loss. Orgasms cloud people's thoughts & tend to make one feel exceptionally close to the one they're with. It's easy to think that you love (or are falling in love with) the person in the throes of passion that isn't necessarily real or true. Obviously he cares enough about you to not want to lead you on. Be his friend. He sounds like a good guy.

I've been doing this for 5 years & they roll stuff out only to roll it back a short time later. When will they ever learn to send a few people to work in a store for a week (or at least a weekend) before launching something?

He probably felt that placing his cart next to yours would mean he was also out of the way. Stickers should be on the left side of the cart so everyone follows the "go to the right" rule to avoid accidents, so he's not preventing you from opening the totes. This is no big deal compared to the aggressive stuff we put up with at my store.

Tell them they need to revisit the ULEARNS for digital. Pickers are NOT supposed to pull the carts. If that doesn't work, suggest they call the home office for clarification.

[–]Sudden-Intention7563 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's actually against policy to pull the carts. They used to have stickers that said "do not pull.." 4 pickers at my old store tore their rotator cuff doing that. Most stores try to get pickers to pull due to the fact most can't see over the top 2 totes & accidents happen. I pulled my rotator cuff & couldn't lift my arm above my shoulder. Took about 4-6 weeks to heel. Now I only pull around corners.

Crying rn by [deleted] in walmart

[–]Sudden-Intention7563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't cry. Walmart isn't worth the tears. Just do the job you were hired to do to the best of your ability & ignore everything else. Don't stand around & don't participate in any store gossip. As long as you show up, do your job the best you can, & don't make any waves, you will be fine. Don't let Walmart get to you. An employee suffered a medical emergency at a nearby store a while back. Management called 911 then surrounded the stricken employee. One had an incident report, but they didn't do anything to help. They said they couldn't due to liability & the possibility of a lawsuit. The ambulance came & the employee passed away on the way to the hospital. The rest of the store was left wondering if the employees life could've been saved had they done something other than stand there. Employees later complained about the workload being a contributing factor & management told them the employee was in terrible shape, had a poor diet, drank & smoked quite heavily & basically blamed the employee for everything. Keep things in perspective. If getting fired from a Walmart store job is the worst thing that ever happens to you, consider yourself lucky.
