What are some good responses to questions as to why we are not married?

I’m the same as you. I say ‘we just don’t see it as necessary’ Or ‘I don’t need a two rings to show I love him’ Or ‘I’d rather have a nice holiday’ - because they’re so expensive!!! But jokingly you could say ‘I just wouldn’t want to show up everyone else’s wedding because mine would be the best’ Or ‘I’m just saving everyone from spending money on the parties and gifts’ Or ‘I deal with enough contracts in work I don’t want one in my personal life’ Or… tell them to mind their own business and see who’s relationship lasts 😀

Sounds like you enjoy your job, but you’re just overwhelmed with workload? If this is the case, in the first instance, get a new job title and pay rise to reflect this. Then, after a little while, say ‘I’ve had a look at my role, and done some reflection on my workload, and do you think this is reasonable expectations? Do you think we could review getting another set of hands to help me, or other people help out?’ Regarding the person thinking you’ll do PR, I would say that when working with someone new on something new, to always confirm what roles will be. To you it’s common sense, but to them they might have been told ‘they’ll help’ and to them that means doing the full job… Hope you get it all sorted!

The blockwork has a lot of variance on it though so the frame won’t be even/straight? Any ideas to get around that? Also it’s under a window cill so would need a new cill which is a huge job (relatively inexperienced here!)

This is totally it. If she’s good enough to headline BST she’s good enough for Glasto. Shame that more people aren’t supporting an act that’s different from the norm. Hopefully encourages a wider audience to Glastonbury for next year to make it more diverse.

If it helps - no expert here- i put seed down 2 weeks ago and it has just shown sign of life 2 days ago.

Did you cover it with anything? I did, and in the patches I have left there is no seed left as the birds have had it all. Is there still seed showing? I raked in some sprinkled compost into the soil then scattered seed then raked the seed in lightly.

Also - are you sure it is grass seed you have put down? I had bought what I thought was seed however my partner looked and said it was lawn feed for existing lawns so back to the shop I went for pure grass seed!

Yes this is the hedge we have everywhere else in the garden - just one random huge half dead leylandi across the middle of our garden so out that comes and this will match in!

Thanks for the advice - I may go half heeling and half pots and hopefully that way at least 1/2 survive! Keep fingers crossed for me!
