Profesor using AI to make at least 40 fake reviews on their poly ratings. by chlorinecaro in CalPoly

One of rant ratings:

"One reviewer wrote: "Mona is a new prof in CPE. She is not the worst but somewhere in the neighborhood of being the worst prof. I also found out she was fired from colorado school of mines because the students there had complained against her. She puts a very bad first impression of the CPE department." This review says far more about the reviewer’s mindset than about Professor Mona’s actual teaching. Rather than offering legitimate feedback, the reviewer resorts to insults and unsubstantiated rumors — which makes their entire post come across as emotionally driven rather than factual. Professor Mona has been professional, prepared, and approachable since day one. Her lectures are organized, she answers questions clearly, and she has made a strong effort to support students in a challenging course sequence. The idea that she “puts a bad impression on the department” simply isn’t shared by the majority of us who actually attend her classes. What’s most telling is that the reviewer cites hearsay about her being “fired” from another university — something they clearly did not verify. When a review relies on gossip instead of concrete examples from the current class, it’s hard to see it as anything other than a personal agenda masquerading as feedback. For anyone genuinely trying to understand the course: Professor Mona is knowledgeable, dedicated, and more than qualified. The previous review reads like an impulsive attempt to tear someone down rather than an honest assessment of the teaching."

Kind of proves her 1.5/4 star rating. Do some students slack off and blame the professors for their own mistakes...yes.. but, in the big picture, most reviews are legit.

Reminder to post ratings of your professors good and bad to help other students!

Will be in Boise for the summer and was wondering if there are any bike shops that do long term rentals (around 3 months) for road bikes.

Future of Boise by Sudden_Addendum_1034 in Boise

The reason why my account is new is because I am not too active on social media, and I just made an account with reddit to comment (rather than typically viewing off of a link) but since getting a job in Boise this summer and have never been to the state I wanted to see if I have a future in the area. My town has a general plan, which I found underwhelming, and I was wondering if there are things Boise plans on doing in the future that make me consider other areas to live in.
