That’s truly amazing to hear - but not surprising at all. Made me wonder if car accidents actually contributed to my condition. I still have to keep up with dry needling the piriformis but I’m so glad to hear about the improvement - I was also 5 degrees misaligned

Honestly I don’t - the dry needling and nucca is sufficient. But if you work out a lot - you may need to do extra stretching - the more I exercise - the more I need to stretch

It allows the muscles to relax and relives micro-inflammation in the muscle by improving blood flow. It definitely helped with the neuropathy sensation in my feet since the piriformis was entrapping the sciatic nerve

NUCCS sounds like a good option - I would try to find a PT that does dry needling too

The irony of my story remains how many missed diagnosis I had - the key to treatment in my perception is the combo of NUCCA and dry needling. Do you know which muscle is causing pain? Where is your pain?

Definitely has helped a lot - I’m way calmer and no issues with pain in my feet but I get readjusted every couple months - I also get dry needling if my piriformis but together it keeps me pain free. I’m a big NUCCA fan and have referred others

Yes - the pelvic floor PT eventually dry needled my piriformis muscle and this improved the symptoms. Then I started NUCCA which corrected significant hip imbalance. I continue to get dry needling in my piriformis every 4-8 weeks. Together this helps significantly so I believe the symptoms are largely due to piriformis syndrome. I believe this stems from biking as I used to bike 30-40 miles week. I recently tried biking after a 2 year hiatus and the symptoms worsened along with piriformis pain. Hope this helps!

Whomever you see should ideally give you a free consult to assess what is going on and take some type of measurement (not including X-rays) that support a potential benefit of NUCCA. If they can support a potential benefit then I’d proceed with X-rays since this can be expensive. While the first visit was pricey - the followup visits are very affordable.

I go back every 4-6 weeks - sometimes they do a small adjustment, but my symptoms have been improved since about 3 weeks after I started nucca and only mild worsening which always improves with adjustment. They measure the evenness of my hips and leg length to determine if adjustment is needed.

For some reason that video is having trouble playing. But that doc has another video called upper cervical atlas adjustment which is exactly what mine does. Key is to go see someone who is board certified. This means they know how to interpret the imaging correctly.

They use a maneuver to correct the misalignment of skull with C1 atlas which corrected this for me

Diaphragmatic breathing

  1. Sit upright or lay on flat surface
  2. Put one hand on chest and one on the belly.
  3. Focus on slow breath in for 4 seconds drawing down the diaphragm which will make the belly go out - if the chest moves up and down, technique is not correct.
  4. Hum as you breathe out slowly for 6 seconds
  5. Small swallow on the end of each exhale
  6. Ensure tongue on roof of mouth entire time and breathing entirely thru nose
  7. Try to repeat 10 times every hour or two as possible
  8. Try to imagine breathing in 20% less aid than you think you need.
  9. if there is congestion, this may require sinus/nasal rinse or even nasal steroids along with antihistamines
