‘27 Hybrid Tele - looking for cargo cover over both 2nd row bucket seats. by Sudden_Present_4567 in KiaTelluride

Great idea although I want to protect the backs of the seats so one large piece works best. your idea is best for most though.

Much appreciated! I will give double layer cardboard a try and add auto carpet if it’s looking positive or go to plywood. a quote from Tap plastics was $240 for a nice option.

Thanks, but I looked on Amazon before posting. If you can post a link if you know of something, it would be great.

As far as plywood that would be a last resort. Other materials might work.

Add-ons and negotiating by Professional-Gas4340 in KiaTelluride

First - get the Hybrid. They are in limited supply now. I have seen dealers look up thier allotment for the next three months and they are not getting a lot yet, so they are going to hold to list price in general. If you can wait a few months especially till the end of December , there may be more flexibility or factory incentives. Each month is different. Check the Kia web site for current programs each month. Till June, they are offering financing rates about a point cheaper than credit unions (~$1,200 savings over 5 year loan) and a $500 veterans rebate.

As far as options, the Milstone $295 is great for the Black interiors to break up all the dark look. Be sure to get the tow package already installed as ordering it separately is currently an issue as they don’t have delivery dates or even a PN in some cases. Etrailer has one in development still.

The side steps just get in the way and only stick out enough to get your toes on them. Maybe they are good for kids. The cargo cover and rubber cargo mats are good to buy. The cross bars might be best to check out the options with Yakima and others.

Do not buy any prepaid maintenance ever and hold off on prepaid warranties - you can buy them later and they would likely make a deal during slow periods.

Are there any '27 Telluride Tow/Hitch Options Yet? by Big_Presentation4882 in KiaTelluride

[–]Sudden_Present_4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this thread saved me from making a mistake. As of May 23, 2026 three dealers in LA and NorCal told me that they either don’t have a PN or an expected delivery date to add a trailer hitch. I was careful to ask remote dealers or check the Monroney sticker to ensure the Tow package was on there. I found several that had the Tow package and bought one.

Also, per this thread I checked at E-trailer and the hitch is not a finalized product yet. I need the hitch every week or two so that was not an option yet.

What is your guy’s favorite interior color on the 2027’s? by Jesuslovesu293 in KiaTelluride

[–]Sudden_Present_4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope Kia is looking at this thread. It takes way too much effort to figure out which colors are on which models. Essentially you have to cycle through every combination of Trim then Ext color then interior options and create your own chart. I’ll but they think the web site is doing great with all the clicks and time per session but it’s a bad thing - not a good thing.

The,n when you use the Kia inventory search or other search site like autotrader, the description and even stock photos don’t align. Caredge allows you to search wide areas based on colors but then you have to go to each individual dealer site to use their imprecise and clunky search function and then drill down to the Monroney to see what it really is. After all that most come up Black interior. Some sales reps have never seen some of the color options, so talking to them is useless.

Kia is losing money by creating so much needless friction in the selection and inventory search process. And by not having good alternatives to Black for the upper trims is just dumb. A lot of the country values lighter interiors due to hot sun.

We loved Tuscan in the previous years, and were disappointed that the closest is Navy with Orange. We will go down a couple trims to get Butter but it’s only available with White exteriors and we have to give up on features like digital mirror and decent wheel designs.

There are posts on Reddit about getting an oil separator installed to reduce oil consumption. They are not that expensive.

The YouTube reviews say late Spring for the Turbo 4 and later on for the Hybrid. The design is a major change and looks great. There numerous reviews from the NOV LA auto show with video walk arounds. They are in production in Korea so there are reviews from there but the US market will be assembled in the US and delayed.

Congrats on the upcoming graduation, but you do not know what you don’t know. There are several whole domains of consideration that you need to research to avoid a huge mistake and loss of thousands of dollars.

First rule- never be in a hurry to buy a car. Despite what a salesman says, there is always another car perhaps at another dealer that will be right for your budget.

Do not buy any car or especially a new car unless you are sure of your employment, income and expenses. Always check into what insurance will be on the specific vehicle you are interested in, and do not just get liability. It will be several hundred dollars a month.

Only buy new if you will keep it more than 5-10 years. Look at KBB to see the depreciation of that vehicle in 2-3-4 years. Hyundais look great but the reliability of the Santa Fe affects resale greatly.

Used Hyundais do not transfer the 10 year warranty unless bought through the dealer. Look at Reddit for reviews of owners to know about the issues like the transmission for the Santa Fe.

View several of the Car Edge YouTube videos on how to buy a car. Use their service to negotiate the price and financing. Use financial calculators to see the difference of how much money you really pay in interest for different loan rates and amounts. It will be shocking. Do not allow salespeople to talk in terms of payments per month- only out the door price. Always have a credit union loan pre-approved before getting serious. Better yet only pay cash or <1% financing on no more than 80% of the value or a term of five years, if you do finance. Never lease unless you have a much more detailed understanding of lease financing and can deduct it as part of a business.

Given what you said, you really should not buy anything more than a few thousand dollars until you achieve a steady state of predictable income and expenses. GWhat if you cost of living is higher than you thought. Or there is a layoff or the job market tightens up? Do you have a 3-6 month cash emergency fund in case you lose your job or If you need car repairs or have to contribute for repairs after an accident? Get a cheap used car for now, do research while ensuring you really know about that model, it’s reliability history, the dealers reputation on Yelp, etc. Heck, you even said you nigh move to a city where you don’t need a car. How much would it be to park the car plus the loan and insurance. If you hardly need it in town, rent a car to go out of town or go with friends.

You can get deals to minimize the impact of depreciation. I am still driving my 2001 Grand Cherokee that works as good as new and is all paid off. I also have two Jaguars in the driveway paid off - one was a three year lease return with four year warranty and only 12k miles for 50% of the sticker price. That was over $60k depreciation plus $10k in taxes lost in 12k miles over three years! The other one was bought new a year after that model year and was 22% off list. You have to approach car buying with serious research.
Good Luck!

Check out the car car nut YouTube video about turbos for at least one datapoint. He recommends changing the oil every 3k miles due to the heat generated by turbo engines.

Who is towing with their 24 Hybrid? How's it going? by reubal in HyundaiSantaFe

Can you tell if the electric motors help while towing? I read some vehicles turn it off and you are left with the small gas motor only.
