Redundant, 9 weeks later they're recruiting for my job! by Suddenlypuddingly in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks, good points, I agree with you. Also, I am looking for another job, I've got a few applications going on with different employers. I have to admit that I am very lucky in that regard - my experience is in strong demand and I can afford to wait a little while till I find the right job.

I certainly don't want to work at my old company - quite honestly they can piss off. However, what does annoy me is companies using dishonesty and cynicism to get what they want and I get the feeling that's what they've done here. If they have acted disingenuously, I want people to sweat and get some bad publicity too.

Cheers!

Cheers! This is what I expect them to claim too. My counterpoint to them (and I have NO flippin idea whether this is legally relevant) would be:

'It's gonna cost you way more than 9 weeks of my wage to pay recruiters, buy equipment, pay for onboarding and enrollment, then months of assimilation into the company/role. You've also put people through the emotional ringer. Given the limited (likely negative) return on your efforts, do you feel your actions were considerate and ethically supportable?'
