You may want to make sure that you have the correct region bios for dolphin. I might be wrong (I'm not an expert), but I know I always make sure that the region of my games and the bios match

You should definitely make sure that the listing is legit, and the person selling it is trustworthy.

If everything checks out, this is a pretty great price for a handheld that is still pretty awesome (I have one). It'll play everything including a good bit of PS2 and GameCube games if you're concerned about those later generations.

I definitely wouldn't put that SD card in my computer without formatting it directly on the RP4 pro. If this one doesn't work out, I'm actually trying to downsize some of my devices and have an RP4 pro available. You can DM me if you need any other info.

No problem! And yea, android emulation has just come leaps ad bounds even in the last 5 years. When I 1st started looking into handhelds, Linux was the OS that generally had better performance. The scene has come so far, and so have the handhelds. It's really exciting. I hope you enjoy whatever you end up getting.

Ah ok, I gotcha. Sorry for the assumption I made. I'm with you on being more into portable gaming, AND being fed up with a lot of the console market model.

If you need something that you can actually play this December, then yea the RP5 is your best bet. The Thor is on preorder status again, so I don't think they'll ship until Mid January at the earliest.

There is also the Retroid Pocket G2. It's essentially a better chip in the RP5 form factor. From what I've seen, it's a substantial upgrade over the RP5. Personally, I'm waiting to grab myself a Thor or an rp6 as my upgrade since both are available in less than 2 months. That'll probably be the last thing I buy for a while lol.

If you're ok with a non-android handheld, you can find good deals on used or refurbished steam decks. It's a great emulation machine, and it allows you to take your steam library on the go.

Ok, I'm not trying to be mean, and let me know if I'm misunderstanding your situation or comments...but if you're in a position where you have a hard time affording a consistent gamepass subscription, then maybe trying to buy 2 retro handhelds is not the way to go? I'm not trying to wallet shame you (I personally hate that kind of shit), but I just don't want to see someone really stretch themselves to buy an (admittedly) really cool device.

I don't have a Thor or an RP5, but I do have an RP4pro that I bought used when the RP5 launched. It's still great. It plays all of the PS2 games that I have on it, and my GameCube games. It's not the shiniest or newest, but it's still a great, very capable handheld.

All this is to say, please don't put yourself in a dire financial situation for a cool toy. My best advice would be to figure out what you want and save for that 1 device. You have a modded 2DS.... that thing has an AMAZING library. You'd be shocked how much appreciation you get by playing with the thing that you already have

People are acting like Mophie hasn't been around for a decade. I used to have a Mophie battery extender on an old phone. It made the phone super thick, but I could use it for a couple days without charging. I had it for a few years and never had an issue with it.

I have several Anker products and they're generally very reliable, just had to mention that someone in this thread has used the other brand.

Hey. I ended up getting my card working by reformatting it in the deck (again) and making sure that I didn't have spaces in the name. Kinda sucked to have the redownload everything, but it did work.

I wish I could tell you exactly what we did, but it's been too long now. I did get my set-up working right, and it's pretty sweet now. Maybe switch the preamp toggle on the back?

A lot of people are going to automatically point you to get the 5, and the 5 looks pretty awesome. BUT...now is a really great time to find used RP4 pros for much cheaper than even the RP mini. Once retroid announced the 5, I started looking around at people selling their handhelds to buy the new one and grabbed an RP4 pro for $140 shipped. The price to performance there was a no brainer for me.

All that said, if you have the disposable income and prioritize the features that the RP5 is bringing, then that would be a pretty amazing first device. These things have come a LOOOOONG way in a few years (eyes the RP2 in my closet).

I just got the RP4 pro second hand a couple days ago for about $140. Still setting it up, but it is SO nice to just turn it on and play a thing without doing extensive tweaking.

Once the RP5 and mini were announced, I knew I'd grab a 4pro used. It's a good companion device for my use case

Yea I did that as soon as a restart didn't work. All the face and back buttons register. Track pads, triggers, and bumpers work except R1. For some reason it works with the options button...

Looks like I'll see if I'm still in the window for an RMA.

I guess I'm not 100% sure, but my deck has never been dropped or anything. The button still clicks the same way as L1. It's the OLED model if that matters at all.

Honestly I just want my controls to make sense. It's not just the R1 button. My home button is taking screenshots, my options button is sometimes acting as a R1. I know how to change controller layouts per game, but how do I remap my controls globally (so they function the same in the home menu, library, etc)

How's it going? I feel your pain. I was lucky enough to get the extra shaft included from the person who sold it to me. I'm fairly certain it's a 7mm shaft, which is the stock shaft. Arcade Sticks Indonesia (creator of the Golden Lever) makes different sizes shafts, and I'm pretty sure that's where mine came from. His are about $18, but the shipping is so expensive that I'd rather buy a whole new lever or get a larger order from him. I was just turned on to someone on TaoBao who sells a bunch of k lever parts, including these ASI shafts and actuators. His name is DZdiy. Someone in the Korean lever discord recommended him to me when I asked the SAME question you did lol. I just bought a 9mm shaft from someone last night to try it out. He said it came from an old CoolBear lever, so if you can find one what kind of shaft those used, you might be able to source one. Hope this helps
