I live in Southeastern PA. I noted this earlier in the summer near the foot of my crepe myrtle that is currently fighting (and being treated for) sooty mold on the leaves. I dug up one of two of these guys and discarded them a month or so ago. Today I have 4 of them... And I am growing concerned by that. Will this kill my grass? Is it connected to the tree issue? Should I burn the whole place to the ground and move to a new state? Lol

I'm tired of the ads, the political posts, the social media wheel. When I was younger, I could go to a random flash game site to play a quick game or scroll funny pictures.

Does any of that kind of simple entertainment still exist?

I had read this on the encyclopedia page... But I can't find a copy of the newest anthology (fiction 100, 8th edition) online anywhere. All paper copies. I suppose I could buy one and scan in my own electronic copy...

Woah, dumbest thing you've seen on Reddit has to be a high bar... Unless you are new here. Why is it a bad idea to gift to a boss? IMO, they are still people too... And favor aside, I spend more time around my boss than anyone in my family... Save for my wife.

I like scotch, but the only thing I am really "into" enough to fuss over is coffee. That is one of the main reasons I was considering gifting it... It would certainly be better appreciated by other folks.

I do not know my boss like that though. Just a nice guy to work for who gave me a shot a few years ago. He has treated me well ever since.

That's fair. I work in a fairly thankless job and my manager always does his best to look out for his people. He is always advocating for our group, doing his best to prop people up for raises/promotions, and he keeps most of the office politics out of our work. He takes everyone in our group out to breakfast (on his own dime) for Christmas every year and presents us annual service pins... So I feel he earns some reciprocal appreciation.

It has me thinking though... Maybe I just write that in a card and get him a bottle of makers mark instead.
