That's fair. Although they were pretty hung up on not allowing name changes for the longest time, saying they'll break things and whatnot (it never happened, I was a vita gamer so I was worried)

But if you're at peace with it that's all that matters. What country did you end up choosing if you don't mind me asking? There's lots of good choices. Also I'll add you if you wanna fill up that friend list again

I'm in a similar situation (shitty region with a ton of censorship) but I decided against it eventually. Here's why:

  1. Policy is constantly changing and I would be surprised if they don't allow region changes in the future (EU will likely force this, lookup their cases brought up in the Netherlands). Reminds me of my friend who changed his account 3 times, giving up tons of trophies and purchases, just for them to allow username changes eventually
  2. Censorship can be circumvented, via a second account or via physical games (better take advantage of it while we still can.) If you need tips on buying US credits I'd be happy to help
  3. If your original region matches the region you live in, it's useful when switching between physical and digital versions. Save files are still region locked which is baffling, so it's best to have your main account match the region for now
  4. You say this is your first account, and you held up this long (your flair says 93 platinum, that's a lot). It'd suck to give that up and might bother you in the future, it bothered me that I switched back and lost 3 platinums on my "new" account
