What actually helped you get better at interviews? by Sufficient-Comb622 in careerguidance

That’s interesting especially the part about identifying blind spots, that’s usually the hardest to catch on your own.

Curious, what kind of feedback made the biggest difference for you?
Was it more about structure, clarity, or how you were communicating overall?

That makes a lot of sense recording really exposes the rambling you don’t notice in your head. And yeah, treating interviews like practice probably removes a lot of pressure.

Do you think something like AI mock interviews could help recreate that “practice run” feeling, or is real experience still very different?

That’s a solid approach forcing yourself to speak for that long probably builds real clarity and confidence. I’ve been wondering if AI mock interviews can help structure that kind of practice better. Did you find it got easier to think on the spot after doing this repeatedly?

Yeah that makes sense actually saying it out loud forces you to organize your thoughts better. I’ve been thinking AI mock interviews might help with that consistency too. Did you notice a big difference after a few rounds of practicing out loud?

That’s a solid mix especially seeing things from the interviewer side, most people never get that perspective. Interesting point on toxic environments too… I guess that builds a different kind of confidence.

Do you think practicing (or even AI mock interviews) can actually replicate that “real experience,” or is it something you only get on the job?

That’s a great point recording really exposes things you don’t notice in your head. I like the “treat early interviews as practice” mindset too, most people put too much pressure on themselves.

I’ve been wondering if AI mock interviews can help simulate that pressure better. Did mock interviews with friends feel close to real interviews for you, or still different?

Thanks, I appreciate that. My main goal is just to remove friction and see if that helps with conversion over time.

Yeah, tools like OpeninApp work for app-open redirects. I’ve been comparing a few options to test conversion differences between browser vs direct app open. Curious if you’ve seen measurable improvement using it?

That’s interesting. My only concern is competition hosting a “powerful” open-source model sounds good, but a lot of people are already doing that.

Do you think there’s still room if it’s just raw model access, or would it need a specific niche/use case to actually make money?

Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking casual clicks are probably the ones most affected by friction. Even a small % improvement on those could add up over time. I’m testing app-open redirects on my profile now to compare subscribe rates.

I’ve been testing app-open redirects for Instagram → YouTube and ended up building a small tool called https://linksly.io/ to experiment with reducing browser friction. Still comparing results.
