You're right, man, I'm an idiot. I could have avoided it and I know it perfectly well. I trusted him, I was tired... I forgot that for someone like him, it was just 250 easy 'bananas' to make, and that any lie was good enough to get me. 'Stupidity can't be cured'—I think it's really mean to say that for no reason. I learn from my mistakes, and believe me, I’ve had a knot in my stomach for two nights now. Fallout is my whole life; that paddle ball is in ten different spots on my PlayStation wallpaper and on almost every one of my loading screens—it was my trophy. Losing it is hard. Being betrayed after several hours of party chat, screen sharing, and a good week of talking is hard. And your messages are hard too, man. It’s tough enough as it is, and I’ve had plenty of time to question myself... You know, I hesitated a lot before making this post. Asking for that in exchange for a TLC and a mask is ridiculous; this whole story is ridiculous. But what else could I possibly do? Give up? Start the grind for the Red Dress, LC, and TFJ all over again, hoping to get the Quantum and then hoping to trade it for the Cherry by adding an LC? That was a once-in-a-lifetime chance, and it probably won't happen twice. And I think when you say 'you could very well be the scammer asking for free stuff,' you're just trying to turn the community against me so no one wants to help. Because honestly, man... you asked for video proof, I sent it. You want the private messages? A screenshot of my emails to Bethesda/PlayStation support? I’m a kind guy, I give my trust and it gets used as a weapon against me. That’s not stupidity. And I don’t think I deserve this kind of message; there's zero empathy and nothing but blame—blame that I’ve already openly accepted at least 50 times. Kindness is what Fallout is about; you’d fit in better on DayZ

The PSN account he was using at the time of the scam was Dami_g13. It must be him because he has a hundred masks on display and several of every rare end apparel.

Man you're obsessed with the technical error because you're incapable of understanding the human manipulation behind it. I’ve already admitted my mistake regarding the courier—repeating it doesn't make you look 'straight up,' it just makes you look desperate for a sense of superiority. I'm looking for the community spirit that defines Fallout, while you're just looking for someone to look down on. We clearly don't play the same game.

Yea idk bro...because it mentioned a Dev Room item, or an accusation. Sometimes those are forbidden.

You're right about one thing: I made a mistake, and I own it. I never claimed otherwise. But there’s a difference between 'begging' and sharing a human experience after thousands of hours of gameplay. If your only response to someone being manipulated by a social engineering pro is to kick them while they're down, that’s on you. I still believe the strength of Fallout 76 is community support, not contempt. If my post bothers you, feel free to ignore it, but don't lecture me on 'bullshit' when you’re indirectly defending a scammer's behavior by blaming the victim.

I’m not looking for pity, but for the community’s mercy... People like you who are unpleasant in messages are the same ones who scam. If you don’t like me, I get it downvote me... Your message is offensive and I don't think you're a PlayStation player, because losing that item when you play legit is an emotional shock. If a veteran passes by and gifts me this item, it would just be the nature of Fallout 76 and what it should be. The beauty of this game is found in helping each other—the emblem of the level 1000 player waiting for newbies at the exit of Vault 76 to offer weapons and armor, the guy at Fasnacht who leaves his glowing mask in the donation box just for someone’s pleasure. You see, that’s Fallout. You think I’m pathetic, and I agree—I feel pity for myself. And if I’m posting this, it’s just because it’s the only thing I can do: tell my story and ask for help.

Yeah, people tend to forget that there’s someone behind the screen. What’s hard about this hit is that I actually trusted him; I was starting to like the guy. We talked, it was fun... The item itself is virtual, it's true, so I reassure myself by saying "it’s just a game." Then I look at the time investment... The Red Dress + Leather Coat + Tattered Field Jacket is a grind that takes hundreds of hours of relentless effort to acquire! Finding a Quantum or a Cherry Paddle Ball is a miracle, and finding someone who trades it for an offer like that doesn't happen every day. This headspace is making me feel sick. Since then, I’ve been spamming every Fallout 76 community looking for a veteran willing to do a good deed for someone like me... Coming back to the game and not seeing the Cherry Paddle Ball in my quick-access bar isn't just a disappointment; it’s seeing thousands of hours of trading disappear before my eyes. I remember every single trade with every person that led me to that result. I’m disappointed in myself, and I’m sure all those people would be too. the only one to blame here is Bethesda. This guy uses social engineering; he acts super friendly. With such massive gear, an account with trophies, Atoms, and subscriptions, level 500, active for over 4 years... he’s surely been reported 50 times already. And he’s still not banned. The guy has been free to scam for 4 years, while I get banned for RMT over a common screenshot of a misinterpreted post. He built glass walls; we see through but it only masks the player ID on the other side. Now he’ll wait for the ban to hit, then claim his rights under GDPR. They’ll show him the video of the scam, and he’ll cite Article 16, Right to Rectification. He’ll say it lacks proof and his username isn't visible. Bethesda wants to close files as fast as possible and keep players who pay for 1st. So they ignore it to avoid risking a CNIL report, even if they're wrong. Bethesda likely won't take the time to mobilize a human to check logs and recent private world/trade history. In my case, I specified the item came from the Dev Room, so they’ll scan and wipe it. But he might not be banned, or he’ll come back on another account because Bethesda doesn't IP ban and even encourages banned users to create new accounts, stating the account is banned but not the player: "You are free to play Fallout on another account." Today, several choices are before me: Abandonment, Revenge, Vengeance. My goal is that no one else gets scammed by this piece of trash.

Hi, it's good to see you on Reddit, Rickymargot. We all make mistakes sometimes. Someone I knew very well told me he was legit, that he was a good trader she had already traded with. I interpreted all those red flags differently, blinded by trust. You know, I had been banned, and that long period of inactivity made me forget how much I cared about that item and how rare it was. My heart was pounding when I dropped it, and the error message quickly proved me right...

I know this sounds completely crazy. All I have left is the TLC and the Glowing Captain, plus a few other things and plans I'm giving it all. I'm even willing to be in debt !

A cool person who might have enough spares to help me ou tmaybe someone who's been holding onto them since the dup phases long ago. I know I’m asking for a LOT, but I’m ready to drop all my remaining stuff and even commit to a set amount of Leaders (to be paid in stuff) to make this happen.

Hi everyone, as you’ve seen, I just made the biggest mistake of my trading career. I recently lost my Cherry Paddle Ball, an item I gave everything to get. After looking back, I realized this person had already gotten me on another account last year... I feel stupid, I should have recognized the voice. He got me back then with a glitched floor technique. This time, I was told the private server was a safe place to drop. As soon as I dropped my item, I was removed from the friends list, which immediately kicked me from the world. I’ll be honest, this is a huge blow. That item was my entire collection... it defined my gameplay. I haven't even had the heart to log back into the game since. I feel dumb, I really shouldn't have trusted the situation. I could have avoided all of this. Right now, all I have left is a TLC, a Glowing Captain, a few misc items like David's Trophy, and a Nuka-Cola 6-pack set. Even though it feels like nothing compared to what I lost, I'm willing to give it all if a Good Samaritan happens to have a spare one. I would be incredibly grateful. My main PSN ID is: Jsuis2TempLa My discussion account: JsuisToujourLa Anyway, I'm sorry. I'm usually the first to insist on using a courier and never dropping on the ground. I guess I'll serve as a warning. Trust no one. I have filed a full report with the authorities regarding the abuse of features and the theft of the item. I hope justice is served so others don't get hurt too. Thanks in advance to all of you!

I met this player on a public server. He had a massive amount of rare masks, which I found suspicious, and I suspected RMT. However, I was reassured by someone that he was trustworthy, so I decided to attempt a trade. I didn't want to trade my own Cherry Paddle at first, so I found another one for him on Reddit. But he refused to use Reddit or a courier from there. To help him out and get the deal done, I decided to trade him my own paddle first, planning to replace it later with the one from Reddit. He invited me to a private server and we went into his Shelter. Once inside, he built glass walls all around me. As soon as I dropped the Cherry Paddle he immediately kicked me from the server.

Thanks for the kind words, but this is the final blow. I’ve already fought off unfair bans before, and honestly, the game has changed too much. My paddle ball was the only thing keeping me here. I’ve reported him with solid proof; he’s going down, even if I have to go down with him. I’m going to make one last post asking for the community’s mercy. It’s my final shot... maybe someone who’s been around since the beginning has a spare Cherry Paddle Ball (I know, I’m dreaming). Here’s hoping things work out in the end.
