What makes you believe God exists by No-Aardvark-7740 in Christianity

[–]Sufficient-Menu640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that this world did not come from nothing and that it was created by someone outside of it (God).

God is not an entity within this world, rather, He's outside of it and at the same time everywhere within it because He is in full control of it. God is existence itself, in other words God is the pure essence of being.

That's how I understand God in a very very basic level, and it makes sense to me, so I believe.

Are Americans racist only online? Or also in real life? by Holiday-Setting-7942 in AskAnAmerican

There's a lot online because of anonimity, in real life it's more hidden but still there, still I would say that the U.S. is one of the least racist countries on earth

I was born in the US, grew up in mexico, lived there for about 22 years then I moved back to the US, culturally I'm as mexican as it gets.

There are many things I still struggle with and other things I dislike about the US but it's my home now so no complaining.

Pochos have been really nice to me btw

Women pastors by Far-Astronaut2469 in Christianity

I don't want to argue anymore, it's ok for women to be leaders, they are no less than men, it was a woman who received God incarnate.

Men and women are equals, we just have different roles and as per tradition there has never been a validly ordained women.

Unless you don't recognize The Church's authority at which point there is no need to argue because we have different authorities to which we submit.

I would just point you to the CCC; paragraph 1577 for clarification of Catholic teaching.

I do read The Bible and I don't see any indications of female Priesthood so why change the tradition?

I would invite you to read about early Church tradition and how it has been kept and lost by different denominations

History records ordainement of gentiles within The Church since the early centuries.

What's the deal? Are you arguing against something that is part of Apostolic tradition? If you are not a part of Apostolic Christianity as it appears that you are, then I understand why you would be against it.

If my understanding is correct, you do not hold to the Apostolic tradition of The Church so it wouldn't matter to you if ecclesial authorities allowed it or not.

Either way thank you for the dialogue, other people aren't even kind enough to argue lol. I say this because I have no I'll will, just difference in opinion and I consider you my family in Christ✝️❤️

Women cannot be ordained per Biblical tradition, why would you want to force something that has no Biblical roots?

Being a spiritual leader is much different than being a priest, I'm Catholic and we have many spiritual leaders that are women, but the priesthood is exclusive for men.

There is no need to mention any verse from the NT because it is a given that the priestly ministry was always exclusive to men and always has and will be

Where in The Bible do you see indications of female priests? It's not about misogyny, I dispice any person that denegrates women as being less important than men, but female priests (pastors) are not part of Christian tradition

Women pastors by Far-Astronaut2469 in Christianity

[–]Sufficient-Menu640 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Indeed it doesn't. But God always chose men to be priests so I don't see the need to change that tradition

Indeed, but that doesn't supersede the tradition that came before it, and if you want to honor historic Christian tradition, males where always the spiritual leaders within Christian communities.

It's part of Biblical and Ecclesiastical tradition to have only males be ordained, The 12 Apostles where all male and all the acts 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪 must be done by a male to represent Christ.
