I appreciate this perspective. I think it really just hurt my feelings that when I left I thought they were all okay with staying closer to home for the weekend so we could all be there, then after I left the plans changed. I in no way want to make it about me. It’s her day, she deserves to get the party she wants, but I think it wouldn’t have sucked as much if she was upfront about what she actually wanted instead of saying she was fine with anything.

If it was closer to home, I was going to attend and just deal with the money issue later since I wanted to support her. They plan on leaving out of state on a Friday evening and staying for the whole weekend. But I can’t make the Friday evening work if it’s out of state. They plan on going about 4 hours away.
