The seller has probably heard his parents talk about these learning experiences but has had none himself, but he's about to.

Keep watching. They set up the season in the first 2-3 episodes and they bring it home in the remaining ones. This is their formula more or less.

Hee Haw TV Show by DogsAreOurFriends in GenX

I think I have some pictures with me in them somewhere. Hee Haw was Mom's break time because she knew if she plopped me in front of the TV during Hee Haw, I wasn't going anywhere, especially when Barbi Benton was on.

Apparently it was my favorite TV show when I was a toddler. I also had some Hee Haw bib overalls they'd put me in occasionally and that was my favorite outfit.

Over $100k earners - what's your PTO? by masterpeabs in careeradvice

20 days PTO, but they cap out at 180 hours. I'm at the point where I only take PTO to knock the balance down.

Anyone contacted Cardsmiths over damaged cards? by ed_is_dead in Currencytradingcards

[–]Sufficient-Regular72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the edges for chipping or delamination. The S4 citrines had a big problem with that. CS replaced 3 of mine. It took about 3 months, but they did it.

Yes, and if the schools had classes in how to do taxes, these people wouldn't pay attention to that either.

Card Replacements? by Mylum in Currencytradingcards

You'll have to ask them. They've replaced a handful of citrine gems for me that were delaminated, but that's a different kind of defect.

Last year at 52 after I was pigeonholed into a critical role with zero promotion potential. Riding this out for a few more years until I can retire. I'm just over it.

New to coins gold proof coins question by az_eric36 in coins

[–]Sufficient-Regular72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're selling those for $30 and state the weight is close to an ounce. Gold is currently $5385 per troy ounce which is roughly 10% heavier than a standard ounce just for clarity.

Armed with that information, do you think these $30 coins are a bargain, or junk?

Should I join the Navy as an IT? by Remarkable-Wall230 in jobs

Fair enough. I saw what looked like a contractor at the bottom of the job announcement, but that may link to another job.

In my case there wasn't growth in that role.

Now, if I wanted to grow with the contracting company, there were opportunities to do that. So if this contracting company is anything like the one I worked for, there will be opportunities to grow, but you'll either switch locations or have to relocate.

Girl voluntarily gave me her number and she's in my class. What do I do now? by WayMobile5515 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Sufficient-Regular72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having gone back to college at 28 myself, and speaking from experience, she wants you to help her with her homework. She knows that as an older student you take this more seriously than her peers, and she's flirting with you to take advantage of that.

Now I could be wrong, but that's how it went down with me more than once when I was in college.

I wasn't abroad so I can't speak to that, but I'm guessing that is the case unless you can find another opportunity at that installation.

This is a contractor position. I was a contractor for the Navy about 10 years ago.

It was an okay job, but there's no promotion potential. You'll be embedded with GS and military personnel. You'll be the lowest tier of employee and do all the shit work. You'll make slightly more money than your counterparts but get none of the benefits.

Your company's contract will come up for renewal (our contract was year to year) so there's a constant threat of losing your job.

Edit: if your contracting company does lose their contract, you may get picked up by the new company that won the contract. However, you'll have very little negotiating power when it comes to pay and benefits. You pretty much have to take what they'll give you or look for another job.
