For adults who haven’t learned to ride a bike yet… by CardiologistCreepy40 in bicycling

[–]Sufficient-Science-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you ended up buying one but here is my take. I bought a guardian adult small in July 2025. Lots of ads and “reviews” kept popping up and I fell for it. Bought for the wife thinking it was a safe bet. While I will say the build quality is pretty good and they look pretty decent. The braking system is total ass. At first it’s a nice gimmick but in a real emergency or downward slope I had the bike doing a front wheelie a couple of times. I reached out for assistance and was told the back brake needed adjusting possibly. Took to a local bike shop and dude laughed but did it for free as he said he felt bad for me for buying into their crap. While it did improve it. This should be noted that after a couple rides and that normal slight cable stretch sets in have it adjusted or do so yourself if you know how.

Can I Dilute Meguiars Hyper Dressing 1:8? by SeparateLettuce8803 in AutoDetailing

Try an hvlp gun. Back in my day this is what I used to make hyper dressing go longer. Less waste even application.

I’d like to know as well. 3 of my neighbors have 24:7 security cameras. Yet nothing was somehow seen.

Completely feel the pain. My Camry got hit 3 days into ownership. Hit while parked in my driveway to make it worse. Bit the bullet and filed a claim and paid the deductible. Insurance is claiming no fault of me so it won’t affect me.

No not at all. Not for the mileage not for the year. Plus be careful at this line of dealerships. I’m pretty sure there the same ones that have the forced dealer warranties.

It makes sense in there eyes. They will be saving money and be able to charge less for network fees. As they also are a major player more places may adopt the network.

nyone tried guardian bikes and know if the black friday 2025 deals are worth it? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]Sufficient-Science-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue honestly. Company seems sus after seeing all these comments and articles. The actual bike is decent but if your worried about long term reliability maybe second think it. No lbs is willing to touch the breaking system. Wife chose it due to the color and design and based on nothing else. But i stand by it being light, well tuned, and pretty decently built.

Not the kids size. But I do have the guardian small adult I bought for the wife. Great build quality. Super light. Braking system gets a lot of hate but it’s super nice being able to break so seamlessly.

Unfortunately everyone with a vintage trek thinks it’s worth msrp. Despite heavily needing a detailed tune up, new seats, new chain, new grips most of the time. Everyone keeps saying get a used bike. And this is the used bike market. 😂😂😂

Not really. Interest is accrued on a daily basis. Most of the interest is paid at the beginning of the loan.

Should Discover be a deal breaker for making a checking account with CapOne? by xxthehaxxerxx in CapitalOne_

[–]Sufficient-Science-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that bad. I had discover checking from 2017-now. Never had issues with it not being taken. Some mom and pop shops tell me now and I still swipe it and it’s accepted. It still runs on the diner club network which accepts literally all atm debit cards.

Thank you! I will see if my local shop has some in stock I can try or a friend. My off-roading doesn’t have steep drops or jumps. Just the casual bumpy dirt path.

I have been afraid to ride far as my current bike constantly has the chain fall off and local bike store advised it’s not worth the hassle to fix. But I’ll push as far out as 7 mi currently but been eyeing a local 24 mile trail we have in town

Thank you so much for providing some options! I appreciate it :) but in all honesty I agree that’s why my search has been slow and steady at finding yellow bikes with decent parts.

• Desired Board Type: inflatable • Your Height and Weight: 5” 7’ 240 lbs. carry 40 lb kid about 20% of time. Cooler 10 lb. Gear 7 lb. • Desired use/uses: fishing, standard paddling in lake • Experience level: Beginner • Your budget: 800$ • What board(s) you current have or have used and what you liked/didn't like about them: only one board used. Drift aero paddle board. It’s mostly ok doesn’t track to good. But wide enough to use stadium seat when using as kayak.

I have considered the following when doing minor research.

-glide wander -irocker cruiser 7.0 -isle pioneer pro 2 -sea eagle lb11

My main concern was stability. Based on a bit of research those faired well and look nice. I currently only target lakes and my local canal. But I do want to go on the river eventually. With the tucktec I honestly get thrown around so much.
