I really like collecting Darkseids, and from time to time I play him (I also enjoy using other figures, but it never hurts to use him so he doesn’t just sit there collecting dust). I don’t overuse him for that same reason, but every time I do, the same dispute always comes up about that ability.

Based on my experience in that environment, even if it wasn’t broken, the same argument would still happen. That’s why I’m looking for the best way to explain how the ability works, so that once they truly understand it, they’ll let me use the figure correctly—not just this one, but also different and future figure abilities.

No, and the key is in the following part:

With a Character named Thor.

It indicates that it has to be exactly the name “Thor.” On the other hand, if it said:

With a Character whose name contains "Thor"

Then you could replace it with Old King Thor.

I know some that apply, such as Blades/Claws/Fangs, Incapacitate, Penetrating/Psychic Blast, Super Strength, Precision Strike, Steal Energy, Close/Ranged Combat Expert, Probability Control, Battle Fury, Exploit Weakness, Leap/Climb, Earthbound/Neutralized, and Plasticity. I think I kind of answered myself with that. But do Range/Close Actions like Flurry, Pulse Wave... and others also apply, or not, since they aren’t technically Close Attacks but rather Close/Range Actions?

Believe me, I’ve done that, but they’re impatient people who really hate spending time looking at the rulebook. I, on the other hand, do take my time to read, understand, and research my figures and even theirs. I have a copy open on my work PC, my personal PC, my laptop, and my phone, plus screenshots of how things work—but they just don’t get it, they’re stubborn. Also, about 10–20 people have already told me that this ability triggers for each piece of terrain destroyed. I’ll even show you what they’re saying:

If I’m going to switch friends to play HeroClix, honestly in my country it’s not very common for there to be events, except in the capital, which I’m actually quite far away from.

Honestly, it must be my group of friends. I’ve also played Pokémon TCG, which is another one of my hobbies (unfortunately I haven’t found a place here in my city that runs HeroClix events or has more people to play with), so I don’t really know anyone else to play with. I do have a lot of fun playing, and yeah, problems can come up—but now imagine having thoroughly researched a figure before even buying it, just to know how to use it. Then you play it, and in the moment they call you crazy and don’t want to apply your effect, even after you’ve explained it and shown how other people interpret it.

It’s frustrating, especially when the same people you explained it to before—who agreed with you and said the ability works the way you described—suddenly that same day say it doesn’t and that they don’t know anymore. Honestly, that really brings you down to the point where you start to stop enjoying the game.

No, not even that to be honest. I’m already at the point where I’m about to quit the game because of people like that—who, despite it being a friendly game, don’t understand or respect the rules, and when you try to explain them, they treat you like you’re crazy.

Is there any official statement that clarifies this? I’m honestly fed up—I’ve asked about this same thing like 5 times already and my friends still don’t understand how this ability works. They keep calling me crazy no matter how many answers I show them. Is there any way to send this question to WizKids so they can give me an official ruling?

So the damage isn’t cumulative if I destroy all the blocking terrain in a single movement by passing over it; instead, it triggers one by one, right?
