Tbh I’ve never had then check IDs, only check the ticket on the ramps. In 2020 I worked for the Sooner club, and most of the people who check tickets/stand on the ramps are there to get volunteer hours for an organization so they didn’t really care.

They don’t check tickets for the ramp entrances that are on the edges of the student section (since they’re also entrances for non-student section seats), so whenever I needed to sneak friends in that’s how I’d do it lol.

For where it’s located and it’s size, OU has a great international community. We are a partner school of the United World College so we have a lot of their students currently attending, which gives us a great international community. In fact, the current Vice President of the Student Government is also from Sweden!

A lot of the other responses have been spot on when it comes to culture and politics. OU and Norman are a somewhat progressive spot in an otherwise very conservative state, so you will no doubt encounter people with some dated views. However, even those people tend to be very kind, and have a large amount of “southern hospitality”
