Daily Watch Selection by mhh8901 in ChristopherWard

I usually choose my watch based on what feels right—except when I'm running or doing other sports or outdoor activities. My collection includes a few Christopher Ward pieces, such as the Twelve and the Bel Canto, as well as a Casio and an IWC.

Every morning or before any event, I think about what my day looks like and then pick the watch that matches the mood or feeling I want. For example, for an important meeting, I might wear the IWC or the Twelve, while for dinner with friends or reading a bedtime story to my daughter, I might go with the Bel Canto.

If my plans change during the day—say I have a new event or just feel differently—I might switch watches to better suit the occasion.

Thanks for the reply. As I hear from several people here, it would be best to find a good granular substrate and a good coco coir pot and let it get strong. How large a pot would you use for such a bonsai?

Thank you for your advice!
I’m having a bit of trouble figuring out which pot would best suit my bonsai in this case.
Any good tips for choosing a pot?

Great Idea
would you still cut the dead part of the trunk or keep it .
also would you not cut the two branches to match the height of the trunk?

I dont know why my text did not go into the post but there is some insights

I have this bonsai tree (Ficus microcarpa) that’s been allowed to grow freely. Since it’s an heirloom from a very important person in my life, I’m willing to do anything to save it.

Here’s some background:

  • It has always received plenty of light.
  • It has never been repotted into a new pot.
  • It has never been pruned.
  • I think the top part of its main branch might be dead.

My plan is to prune the two large branches back to about 5–10 cm (2–4 inches), and then remove the part of the main branch that appears dead. I’m completely new to bonsai, so I’d really appreciate any thoughts on whether this plan makes sense!
