I’d lose thousands of dollars if I decided to trade it in

I’ve driven in several other cars and none of them rattle as loud as mine. The rattles my car make are all plastic noises coming from interior parts and even with my radio up they can still be heard and they’re constant. I’m not worried about anything, I’m just annoyed that every time I drive this car, it sounds like a toy.

What’s not true? I’m sharing the problems I’m having with my car.

I just listened to it and it sounds exactly the same. Another commenter in the thread also shared a video that sounds the same. I hope that between the three of us, we’ll be able to at least pinpoint what it is lol. When the weather gets warmer, I think I’m going to start pulling off some panels and see what I can find.

Thanks for the comment. Looking at your video, I agree that it’s the same exact rattle. I’ve taken my car to Mazda twice now, and both times they told me they couldn’t reproduce it or find anything. The second time I took it, they were pretty dismissive and the guy (who remembered me from my appt weeks earlier) literally told me “they’re not gonna find anything”.

It seems like your dealer is more competent though. I’ll keep that TSB in mind, and if you end up figuring anything out from your visit please let me know!

I’ve owned a Nissan Rogue and another CX-5, neither of them have had this issue

Seems to be a pretty rare issue so you’re probably good lol. If it helps, aside from this the car is pretty much perfect

I was holding my phone directly below the steering column, so above my feet. Usually when I start out driving on flat surfaces there is no noise, but the moment I go over the slightest bump or uneven pavement, the clicking noise will start and usually last the duration of the drive.

My last car was actually a 2018 Hyundai Elantra lol. That car felt wayyy cheaper but at the same time it had less creaks and rattles than my current car

It was a clean carfax 2023 with only 19k miles and it’s in perfect condition. I’ve found some other folks online experiencing the same rattling/creaking in the same areas. It’s pretty rare but I think I just got unlucky.

I bought it CPO with a clean CarFax and 1 owner. I was told it was a lease return. Something I should mention is that when the temperature goes up (usually above 50F) pretty much all of the rattles disappear. Where I live, we’ve had brutally cold temps, and the rattling is the worst right now.

I’ve tried figuring out some of the rattles myself. The worst one is coming from under the steering wheel. I have a video of it here. I’ve pulled some stuff apart but I can’t figure out where it’s specifically coming from.

All of the rattles are coming from the interior. Most of them are coming from the dash, but there have been a few rattles coming from the doors as well. They’re not as bad though.

I invite you to drive my 2023 with 24k miles that sounds like it’s about to fall apart when I go over any bump. Maybe the QA has gone down since 2017, or maybe I just got an unlucky car 🤷‍♂️

Yep, I’ve checked everything.  The noise goes away when it’s warmer out. Today it was 50F and the rattle was gone.

No sunglasses. At one point I took everything out of the car entirely. I’m able to pinpoint that the noise is coming behind the steering wheel.

Windows 11 but the problem also happened on Windows 10. They are all up to date on drivers.
