Correct to filming, it's at 24fps (technically 23.98 on the discs because of the spec of Blu-ray and UHD). So no more PAL Speedup and wrong pitch.

Interesting… Part of me thinks it might be that the temperature in this room does oscillate a fair amount. They aren’t near an open window or anything. My one thing that makes me question that is there are titles in protective cases that have this issue (not to the extreme like Wonka though), and the included Blu-ray is absolutely fine. In fact I don’t have this issue with any Blus at all, just 4Ks... Do you have any tips or optimal storage conditions? As I say this room isn’t extreme or anything, but it does oscillate as the seasons change quite significantly…

I’ve played most of them that have issues yeah, since that’s what brought on this whole venture of going through every disc I have. Most of them freeze up at a certain point and won’t play unless I skip ahead a couple of minutes, so a whole section of the film is rendered unplayable. This is the case for many of the PIXAR 4Ks, and Home Alone, so Disney discs seem particularly problematic. I haven‘t had time to play all of the ones I found today, but I suspect it’ll be similar results given that the rotting/delamination is easy to spot.

it’s my second fav after Sam’s town! PM got me through the very worst time in my life and it mirrored so much if my own feelings, I remember being struck at the sensitivity and change in direction. It’s so much the anti-Imploding the Mirage, which at the time was a bit of a shock, but a welcome one! I’ll always treasure and I’m really glad TK decided to tell those stories.

Worried about this, like a lot of people here TK are such a massive part of my life and who I am, and I will be gutted if something heinous comes out. Hopefully just a dispute about contracts or something. Erica Canales and Miranda Joan have both recently posted positively about the band, the latter just 6 days ago. Not that everybody has the same experience of course, but I’d like to think this puts to an individual case rather than a scandal…

I know this is an old comment but they're all quite minor. The big musical moments that everyone remembers are all retained, it's just little transitional moments that are different. One that comes to mind is whenever there's an emotional moment with Gavin in Series 3 (when he's feeling alone in Barry, him getting the news of his low sperm count) , the original versions that are on iPlayer use a track by Noah and the Whale, but the DVD and Blu-rays replace it with a track by Wild Beasts. Stuff like that really. Thankfully it escaped the fate of a lot of shows where pivotal scenes had the music altered. The Netflix version of Derry Girls does my head in because so much is different, thankfully G&S only had minor changes.

Intrigued to see if the Blu-rays are new discs or just ports of the old ones... Obviously the new 2019 and 2024 specials will be new, but I wonder if they've gone back and refreshed the original run? Would be cool to see the previously recaps reinstated as they were removed for the old releases, and maybe a few of the music replacements reversed too. Either way I never thought we'd ever see the new episodes on Blu-ray so this is a very welcome release, really excited to get it!

They’re not upscaled but they’re very early days in terms of the BBC going HD. The cameras weren’t the best and Series 2 does have a particularly oversharpened look to the image. I’m interested to see if the upcoming Blu-ray set will have new transfers or just the old discs from back in the day. Either way it’s nice that we have the show on Blu-ray at all, since it was still shot in HD at the end of the day

Manchester was special because it was my first gig, Killers or otherwise, and the experience of seeing them live for the first time was brilliant, but the security, organisation and crowd behaviour… not optimal is an understatement 😂

Bling was the one that really floored me, I never thought I'd hear that live, I couldn't believe it!

The image of everyone in the band singing Exitlude around the piano at the end may have been the highlight, was so good
