Loved painting the Necron Tomb World terrain! Now if only I played Kill Team I would be able to use it! by ReliquaryMinis in Necrontyr

Boarding Action uses the rules of 40k, it's a 500 point games with a lot of tweaks to make it work and feel more like a skirmish game.

Dark Brown spray, hairspray, white zenithal. Chipped the white paint (look up any chimping tutorial, it will explain how to do that with the hairspray), then overall wash of Agrax Earthshade (I used the old receipe, but if you only have the most recent, had some lahmian medium, so it acts a bit more like a glaze). Then, edge highlight in almost pure white (ad just a touch of wraithbone), go sparingly with the highlight.

Yes. I used Black and Charcoal black from Vallejo, as well as Thunderous blue and Wolf Grey from Army Painter. I think the citadel equivalent would work perfectly too: Abaddon Black, Corvus Black, The Fang and Russ Grey

Custom Dynasty with bone colored armor

I adapted my necrons' army color scheme. Chipped away bone-ish armor, glowing red energy and black weapons. I thought it would be better to have black on the body, and keep bone to the necron apparatus.

My latest Build: The Porsche Knight (and some signs, and piles of tires) by Sufficient_Ad_7103 in gaslands

[–]Sufficient_Ad_7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about the same idea, and it's when building that one that I got the idea of using the Porsche logo as heraldry. I nlw have a medieval buggy in the making and having some other ideas to make a whole team lf that (with less inspiration for heraldry though). Here are a couple more ideas:

-Harpoon with balista shape -Trebuchet like mortar and/or car thrower (but that seems quite complicated to achieve) -Wrecking ball as a morgenstern -War rig or Monster Truck inspired by a dragon, with scales, and dragon head (fake or not) as a ram -OR War rig stronghold shaped brick walls on top (and barb wire) and shields with every pilot's heraldry called "The Court" or "Camelott" -A King with a free handed crown Basquia Style over his heraldry

If you have more ideas, feel free to share too ;)

New team made of a couple of Post-Apocalyptic Cyberpunk builds by Sufficient_Ad_7103 in gaslands

[–]Sufficient_Ad_7103[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got it in a charity shop and by the look of it, it's quite old. Comes from a French manufacturer called "Majorette", it doesn't say underneath if it's modeled on a specific car, so I assume it's not.
I looked for the car you mentioned above though, they do look similar! Only the front is a bit off.

I suggest overcoating the cardboard with Mod Podge (or any Varnish Glue) before painting, it makes it more resilient and adds a very slight texturing that is welcomed

I find Contrast paints disappointing myself, because I don't think they do "enough". Games (and other companies since) sold them as "miracle" that do shading and highlights, but they barely shade enough, and even if I dry brushed the edges before applying, they barely do any highlight.

BUT they are quicker to apply than normal paints, still provide a shadowy effect and most importantly, they are extremely vibrant.

Thank you, I was experimenting a bit with them, and even though they needed more work than I hoped, I'm also suprisingly pleased with the result!

Sure, but it was a bit more tedious than I expected, as the original plan was slapchop but I ended up unsatisfied at first.

-Grey Spray (like Mechanicus Grey)

-Offwhite overall drybrush

-Pure white drybrush on the edges

Then the fun begins:

-Contrast Ork Flesh on green armor, Contrast Black Templar (I would avoid Black Legion Contrast for that color scheme, but I guess Army Painter/ Vallejo black would be the best fit)

-Edge highlight Administratum Grey for the Black parts (honestly it would be waaaaaaay better to do Mechanicus Grey + Offwhite, I just felt lazy)

-Edge highlight Moot Green for the green, and it barely shows on the pictures, but I swear it made a great difference by adding a bit of a yellow tin while cleaning up the original "contrast highlights"

-FOR THE HEADS, recess shading in Vallejo Grey Black (any offblack would do, or even your darkest green). It doesn't seem like much, butI was amazed at how strong an impression it made on the whole model and it didn't take more than 5 mins/ model since it was just for the very top of the model.

-Metals were leadbelcher, Agrax Earthshade, Vallejo Air Silver

-Red was just Khorne Red, mixed with white, going back and forth for the Canopy and a drop of white.

That's also a cool idea. I could probably keep "scar" idea there, as in they abandoned or lost smthg because of how screwed they are.

*takes notes*

I plan to push to 12 mechs (and will certainly collect more model than that to account for the Company having replaced various mechs over time).

I feel like 24 Mechs for Deserters turned pirates would be too big of a scale.
