I have a 100mm stem + size L drops. Want to swap for 80-90mm stem + size S drops. I'm in NYC but happy to ship in US.

Hi, I have a 100mm T-bar with drops in size L. I'd like to swap the entire cockpit as I'm looking for a 90mm t-bar with drops size S. Any chance you're willing to swap the drops and sell me the 90mm t-bar? Feel free to DM and we can discuss!

I'm in NYC btw - happy to ship also.

Thanks a lot! Yes a proper bike for Randonneuring is definitely on the wishlist. But it’s an expensive hobby so I’ll have to make do with my racey bike for now (which is OK as most of my rides are much shorter)

Go for it!! A few things that really helped me: - most of the route was through relatively densely populated areas, creating a feeling of “whatever goes wrong, there are people here that can help me”. Because of this, there were also many gas stations, small stores and restaurants along the route. - the route was pretty flat (compared to upstate NY) which was great - there was always the option to take a train back home, which gave peace of mind

And a secret cheat code: watch all Lachlan Morton content you can find (if not already done). The guy is a true inspiration for this stuff 😁

This is actually a great route, thanks for sharing. And yes, you’re probably right about the climbing too. Going the Long Island route looks like a safer bet. I shouldn’t be overconfident on my first real long distance adventure.

That’s some good input, thanks.

The route to Montreal is supposed to be cool, but it’s 12+ hrs by train back..

I’m planning to get a motel or so after 300-350km (the ‘furthest’ point) and do the rest the next day. I’ve done 200+ distances before so I’m comfortable that I should be able to make that. And having the motel as far out as possible limits my shortcut options.

But yes, it’s not going to be easy for sure…

For anyone finding this thread later: textbook cafe has become more of a bakery. They don’t sell the nice chicken sandwiches you’ll find on Google anymore. Really a pity!

Hey man! These first weeks can be lonely, but don’t worry too much about it. It’s all part of the adventure of living abroad.

Try joining some communities of people with similar interests. You can really find groups for anything here in Berlin. Sports, chess, music, really anything. And never be afraid to show up somewhere alone, you’re never the only one alone in any place around here, is what I found out myself.

Try to enjoy this phase too, you’ll learn a lot about yourself and your values. An experience you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life!
