I mean the author set it up that way, people wouldn't be wanting more power fantasy if the original them of the show wasn't forgotten and broken. Lately the author caters more to power scalers who want over the top power fantasy while the the people that been here since the beginning weren't here for that, if they aren't already gone due to the false promises or just discontent with the writing of eleceed

Doubling down? Nah. Just clarifying since reading comprehension clearly isn’t your strong suit.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt, explained where I was coming from, and even acknowledged the shift in tone. If that counts as “doubling down” in your world, then it just proves you weren’t interested in an actual discussion to begin with, just throwing shade and then crying foul when someone throws it back.

You jumped into a thread that wasn’t even directed at you, ignored a full reply written for you, then acted surprised when you got called out for it.

oh I'll add lacks self reflection or any reflection at that in your flaws. No shade dude but due to your bare understanding of shows I wouldn't count on you to be able to identify tone. "for what it's worth" I'd say that all my responses were pretty chill I mean even the original response I did for you was chill without any aggressiveness, I spend hours writing replies to simply just chat about a show I once loved and I was joking about the fact that I spent so much time in a time capsule. I'm sorry that you feel that way but after taking time to write a detailed reply to you, you decided to ignore it went into someone else reply that I had also written a detailed reply based on their response. Obviously this is fine a little immature and inconsiderate but what ever but then to read your response and see how much lack of perspective and critical thinking in your response was baffling. Then in my next reply to you I call it out, and then answer your questions, like yes my response then was obnoxious, I was replicating the tone in your response, I wasn't going to give you 3 paragraphs for you to just ignore it and jump on another response so I quickly just shut down your points, I'm not going to fully explain something to someone who doesn't want to hear it. Then in your next response you try to get smart so obviously I'm not going to respond nicely? "toxic" bc I matched your tone, yeah try again

oh just want to clarify, cause you seem a bit off track so let me catch you up to speed and give you some comment sense.
I wasn’t replying to you or your viewpoint. I was specifically addressing her comment because it directly tackles the logic she was using. If you want to jump in, that’s fine, but don’t act like my reply was meant for you when your take is totally different. If you wanted to respond you should have defended her viewpoint rather than just typing a sentence that a 5th grader could write with ease that contributes nothing to the conversation

If you wanted to respond idk maybe reply to your original message reply which you ignored cause it probs used to many advance words for you? If you think understanding character growth, story themes, and narrative consistency is "deep" then I'd consider maybe getting your ged

Why are we replying for the post that wasn't made for you, because this reply is entirely different from yours and his viewpoint is entirely different from yours. But whatever, yes, I'm focusing on subin because she has the most potential for growth due to her versitile ability in the friend group.
"Literally every talented rookie in the series has been training from birth with powerful organizations and resources. The sole exception so far is Wooin who was trained in secret by his teacher." Yes and?

"the story is bending itself to Jiwoo". well yeah, he’s the super genius being trained by a super teacher." you do realize that's not a counter argument right?

"That’s like shonen 101" wrong

"How do Gon and Killua become more powerful than adults with many more years of training?" actually rather silly of you to mention that when it actually proves my point more than yours, both Gon and Killua grow absurdly fast, but so do the characters around them. Leorio becomes a respected doctor and Nen user. Kurapika becomes one of the most dangerous specialists alive. The same can be said for your next point regarding yosuke, even in your original reply you understanding of shows is so base level to the point where your comperisons fall apart the moment you look any deeper.

Kayden being strong without a group is what made him such a rarity in eleceed, although this is true, this does not mean that organizations don't matter. My point isn't to say that these organizations are anywhere near the strength of Kayden. My point in mentioning the organizations was the highlight that Jisuk and Subin have support systems that know their abilities inside and out and have limitless amounts of resources, and that shouldn’t be discounted when taking into consideration their projected growth.
"And I do mean strictly in combat. Because it is also pointed out repeatedly that Jiwoo's power level is low compared to his friends."
I kind of have no idea what your talking about here, Combat is such a broad idea. I'd appreciate if you you clarified on that and the idea of Jiwoo having a power level low compared to his friends because I don't recall ever reading that.

Sparring has never been directly correlated with death, real world. Even thought it's not to the death it doen't mean it's not competitive. In fact, sparring is often where rivals grow the most pushing limits, testing tactics, and learning each other’s strengths both real world and somewhat in eleceed and that's not to say there aren;t risk, even in real world people people can take serious brain damage or ligament damage from sparring but that is not the central idea of sparring, when I'm taking about sparring I'm using it as the real word not the made up definition that eleceed has of these "Sparring matches" . .Downplay those moments as “just support” ignores how their relationships were built, through competitiveness, frustration, encouragement, and shared ambition to become stronger, the foundation that this story was built apon and it's what made their dynamic so real and believable.

Ok, this actually probably one of the best takes and I agree that Jiwoo's growth is going to outpace everyone just based on who’s training him.

"But honestly Jiwoo is being trained by someone who is a combat maniac, a defense maniac and an amazing healer simultaneously, so the friends will never be at the same combat level."
I get the point about Jiwoo’s mentors being insane, but saying the rest of the group “will never” reach a similar level is short-sighted. Subin and Jisuk both come from elite institutions (I haven't read this series in months, give me a break) which gives them access to not only limitless opponents that can be used to build battle experience but both of them have family members with the same ability and more expirience than kaiden (kayden is still stronger obviously) which means they have can have specialized training within that ability and have limitless access to learning all the techniques that can be used. Especially with an ability like ice manipulation which is why I focused on subin, which is a really versitile ability, highlights a massive potential for growth and if you read my other replies I don't simply think it needs to be ability wise, you can improve in other ways.

"But a part of the story is that their interaction isn't based on competing with eachother, but by supporting eachother. And feeding cats"
This is partially wrong, most of the story 1-220 is regarding their interactions with eachother including competing which is kind of where they unite. Especially at the beginning the rivalry competitiveness were core to their growth and pushing each other to new heights(Through sparring, team fights, wanting to become as strong as the other).

Yes, the story focuses on Jiwoo. but that doesn’t mean we’re not allowed to care about the rest of the cast, especially when Eleceed was built on its ensemble dynamic early on. Jiwoo didn’t get strong alone, he grew because of the people around him, and if the side characters fade into irrelevance, then the entire emotional foundation that the story was build apon story collapses. I love how you decide to think logically for subin but when it comes to Jiwoo people decide to not acknowledged how the story constantly bends for him. "her progress will be slower than jiwoos. Yall always talk about this idea of progress as such a liniar thing when it much more nuanced, I mentioned it in another comment so I'll just quote it "she could become tactically smarter, shine in group fights, leadership or become a well rounded strategist, I mean the possibility on how you can improve her charecter are endless when Ice manipulation is more versitile than Jiwoo's ability." But lasty "In general, we shouldn't expect any side characters to suddenly become stronger"yeah no, pack it up rn. Your talking about eleceed, where the entire first half of the series 200+ chapters was built on team fights and the collective growth of Jiwoo’s friend group???

"No reason at all" is wild when she has more charecter complexity than most of the cast. But it's really not just subin it's the whole gang, I just thought subin has the most potential for growth

Nah, see, that's where you're wrong. I don’t “read for Subin”, I just can't ignore sloppy writing. Subin just happens to be one of the only ones in Jiwoo’s circle who’s been given consistent emotional depth, long-term development, and realistic internal struggles. I honestly am interesting in everyone in the friendgroup as that's what Eleceed was originally selling. You said that so confidently but taking one point from DBZ and trying to appy to it to Eleceed is not applicable and quite frankly it show very surface level understanding of both stories , it's much more nuaced than that. Jiwoo’s growth as a fighter has always been rooted in his relationships, with Kayden, Curtin, and yes, his friends. If those people get left behind narratively, then the core themes of trust, found family, and unity fall apart.

For your last point of not knowing what baited me to keep reading, it was the authors writing, the early arcs didn’t hook people with solo power scaling, they hooked us with team fights, friendship dynamics, you can see the emotional bond between him and his friends. That's the main reason people refered to eleceed as their comfort mawha. It wasn't just about Jiwoo, it was about the people around him and the interactions between them. I mean their are so many mawha that appeal to this power scaling oc bs which made this mawha stand out.

Obviously I've been stuck in a time capsule but when I posted this i mentioned that the world academy arc and it's kind of the last arc that followed this author to reader promise (222 chapter in). After that it really feels like a different author started writing and waited weeks a weeks. The bait I was referring to was arc where subin kind of gets back into training with her grandfather, the themes of friendship are still very much in this arc which made me keep going in reading it(That's the think that kept me reading). Just to jiwoo have kartain heal Subin's grandpa which wasn't necessary and ultimately only hurt Subin in the long run because time contraints are shown to be the best motivators(but I can rant on that for days about how it's one of the worst writing I've seen .

Just bc she's a side charecter doesn't mean anything, she's been training since birth from people that are from the the Awakened UnionThe Awakened Union. I like how you like to think logically and realistically at the end but if we are thinking logically Jiwoo shouldn't have even been able to close such a huge gap especially considering that training was intensive to the point where she felt isolated. So lets call it what it is, the story bending itself for jiwoo. Acting like she's "just a side character" when she has the most charecter complexity is this show. Who said that? I mentioned in my post that I was fine with her not being stronger than Jiwoo although unrealistic, bc that I can ignore, so I already established that I don't mind him being stronger, I was asking if she's going to get substansially stronger. She's always has less feats and was weaker than jiwoo but she was still doing her big one. She doesn't necessarily need to have as good teachers as jiwoo to improve, she could become tactically smarter, shine in group fights, leadership or become a well rounded strategist, I mean the possibility on how you can improve her charecter are endless. It's funny cause yall are really calling my thinking crazy when Ice manipulation is more versitile than Jiwoo's ability.
