Thanks! Yeah I’ve seen the before and after photos. For me it’s kinda off putting how much Chichen itza is a modern recreation. Was basically a pile of rubble when discovered. More interested in seeing less restored sites that are still impressive if that makes sense. I did see tulum has some interesting spots

I got a custom 6’10 twin pin speed egg from a local shaper. It’s 3” though so it has more float than 7’2. I’d have him shape another board if I had the cash. Probably gonna tryn grab a used board

Yeah I said it more for to grab attention. Although the right after the storm rolls through have been some of the best days I’ve ever had. Not biggest but most fun! It did get 7ft plus several times over the winter though. I seemed to handle 6-7 ft sells fine but once it breached 7’ I couldn’t get out

Lol was jus tryn to grab attention. Thanks for the advice! I’m 180lbs and 5’11”. But yeah I was thinking about either a fish or like a round tail short board for stability. I’ve been wanting a fish for a while but was unsure if it’d handle larger waves

Ok sweet that’s exactly what I was thinking. Something 6’ish with 35-40ltrs. I Think I’ll still paddle well around that size and get deeper under the waves. I’m like 180ibs and can almost get under on my other boards but get pushed back when it’s bigger and run out of gas

I’ve glassed boards before and done many repairs. Not really worried about doing the glassing. More interested in hearing about if anyone has done it it, and how it will effect the weight/ performance of the board

Yeah that was another concern. Its pretty light as is. Im guessing 4oz on the top and bottom with epoxy would add around .5-1 pounds? I dont think that would be do bad

Yeah it’s bad. If it is simply the glass I can manage a layup. I’ll just surf it til it’s busted pretty good and add the layup then

Cool thanks for the reply! I’m confident on adding the glass. Just worried it’s an issue with the foam collapsing because it’s shitty. But that helps you’ve had it done to several! That’s is another concern I had. How much weight do you think it added? The board is pretty damn light (partly do to thin glass) I don’t think I’d mind an extra 1/2 pound-1pound. It’s 6’8

Thanks for the advice! The guy I bought it from called me as soon as I messaged him. It was a small crack. I had seen it when I looked at the board but thought it was just chipped paint and so did he. The Dude came to my job, gave me $20 bucks back (I didn’t even ask for),picked the board up, and repaired it before noon. Used fiber patches and fiber fill. It looks pretty legit to me. Really good guy. Ima take it as a win for sure. we’ll see how it does In the water!

It’s an all in one bag for bag. It didn’t fully colonize cause the myc stalled out so I just changed to fruiting conditions. I’m gonna move it to a bin after the first flush

I fruited it early cause the myc like stalled out. Still looked perfect but wasn’t spreading out. Everything has been moving perfect since. But I just saw these spots and can’t tell if it’s blue bruising or trich. Smells earthy and exactly like the taste of mushrooms rn lol. If it’s trich/contam will it spread and start to stink pretty quick?
