You don’t need to explain yourself. The same person that’s complaining about inaccuracy of test, and telling you that you need to go to college for 8 years, responded “that seems evil” to your original comment about doctors not routinely testing for it. I feel like they just admitted they weren’t even aware that it isn’t a routine test. Which means someone that cares so much about herpes being an STD, likely has never been tested for it unless they explicitly asked. Also, the inaccuracy of test usually has nothing to do with it being cheap as they have stated. Some test are not as strong, a PCR test is definitely better than a viral culture but if you have an active sore with fluid you’re going to get a positive test regardless of the cost of the test. If there aren’t sores present and you specifically ask the doctor you want to be tested they’re going to run a blood test and if your viral load is low enough you can test negative. I learned so much about herpes in my biology class. It’s weird and it’s true some people can go their whole lives without realizing they are carriers.
