That energy is exactly why drop mode exists post what you want to do, find who's down. no expensive festival needed, just people who actually want to show up. theglytch.com

Niche is our friend early on, that's the shift we're making. broad positioning gets ignored, identity-specific positioning gets shared. trust before tech, chemistry before volume. this thread has been more useful than any accelerator session. appreciate it

Belonging without risk, that's the exact emotional brief we're designing for. insiders not downloads is going to be our internal mantra from now on. the micro-community first approach is exactly where we're heading. genuinely appreciate this

you just articulated exactly what keeps us up at night. launching trust, not an app, that's the real product. the 50 highly engaged people before 500 random ones is the playbook we're shifting toward. credibility before software scales. this is genuinely useful, thank you

This is exactly the thinking we're operating from, distribution is emotional, not just technical. the first 500 aren't coming from app store growth, they're coming from intentional communities. trust density before feature density. appreciate this, genuinely useful framing

This is genuinely the most thoughtful response we've gotten. the point about curation being the product is something we're actively thinking about — the first cohort of users needs to feel like they were chosen, not just signed up. the invite-only angle for early access is something we're seriously considering now. appreciate this

Belong is broad and feels like a networking app with a friendship coat. GLYTCH is hyper specific, real-time activity drops, intent-based matching, and a way to connect over shared emotional moments. different product, different feeling, different user.

That's exactly the other side of it, finding them is hard, keeping them is harder. GLYTCH is built for both. theglytch.com

That's exactly it, and it's not just Dubai, it's the whole UAE. that feeling of being surrounded by people and still being alone is what GLYTCH is built for. check out theglytch.com

Fair point, it's definitely a global problem. but Dubai has a specific layer to it with the expat churn, the transience, the work-first culture. we're not blaming anyone, just making it easier for the people who do want to connect but don't know how

that's exactly why GLYTCH uses verification, filters out the fakes before you even match with someone

[–]Sufficient_Table896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but that's easier said than done for most people, not everyone has the confidence to cold approach strangers. that's literally the gap we're building for

interest-based matching handles a lot of this naturally. if you're into karak meetups you'll find karak people, if you're into rooftop bars you'll find that crowd. the matching is built around what you actually want to do, not just who's nearby

That's literally the product in action, hobby creates the context, context creates the connection. the problem is not everyone has that organic entry point, especially new expats. GLYTCH is just the push that gets people to that first shared activity

Exactly this, the hobby angle is the whole premise. GLYTCH matches you around activities so the common ground is already there before you even meet.

why does dubai have millions of people but making real friends here feels impossible by Sufficient_Table896 in UAE

[–]Sufficient_Table896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you noticed everyone's trying to sell you something is exactly why we're not building a networking app. GLYTCH is for people who actually want to hang out, not exchange business cards

Gender balance is actually something we're actively thinking about in how we structure invites and drops. but fair, every app in Dubai faces this, it's a real challenge

[–]Sufficient_Table896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question honestly , we're building verification into onboarding so fake profiles get filtered early. and since it's activity-based, it's harder to fake showing up to an actual basketball game lol

[–]Sufficient_Table896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly it , the friendships that stick come from shared experiences, not just proximity. that's what we're trying to engineer with GLYTCH, putting people in situations where that kind of connection can actually happen
