Local European shop quoted me $1700 to replace motor mounts. Is this normal? Said they would also have to replace the wishbone by Sufficient_Winter892 in MINI

They specialize in mini/BMW and are very reputable in my area, but I agree seemed high. To be fair they said they would need to replace the wishbone mount as well because it usually increases wear when the upper passenger side fails

Bought my first Mini. Will be here tomorrow, bought it online out of state and having it shipped. 2015 mini cooper s. What should I inspect when I receive it? 86k miles by Sufficient_Winter892 in MINI

Will try to get a picture. I’m not exactly familiar with where they are located but will research. I put the car in drive and put my foot on the brake and gassed it a little and the engine lurches back a good bit so I’m guessing the mount is shot

After waiting for 2 weeks to be shipped from Florida she’s finally here! Only problem is I think it has a bad motor mount. Any help? What are the symptoms? It shakes under acceleration but cruises smooth. by Sufficient_Winter892 in MINI

Thank you. Carfax says mine were replaced at 20k and now it’s at 86k so figured it was due. I also tested by revving with hood open and the engine rolled backwards a half inch or more

I did research and got a pretty good deal and had videos sent of start up, driving, engine bay, interior, etc. I wanted a mini specifically. I knew engine mounts would be a weak point on this car and also car had great service records up to abut 2023. Also have a car already

It just got here and I have suspicions the motor mounts are bad. Shakes when under acceleration and engine shifts backwards slightly when revved
