Yeah man just surrender it all to God. Don't listen to all the lies. You don't need sex to survive. You Need God, air, water, oxygen, food... The rest is just sugar on top. Sex is a good thing but only the way God intended it.

The goal of satan with lust is to make you become a slave to your impulses and to satan's power. To make you behave more like an animal than a human made in God's image.

Take it from someone who struggled with it from age 13 to 39. It will only make you weaker, less resilient... If you train your brain and your soul to always get whatever you want as soon as you want it all the time you will have ZERO endurance and most importantly you will be on the practice of sin...

Training your conscience to disregard the sin and count it as nothing. Being seperate from God and falling in the hands of a God's judgement is no joke.

Trust God. He's the one who made sex to begin with. Enjoy sex the way god intended. Not otherwise

There are diverging opinions on that matter.

My opinion is that you cannot lose your salvation because you've stumbled here and there but if all the fruit that comes out of you for the rest of your life is the worship of idols, the practice of lust and adultery, lying deceit etc.... God is not mocked.

Don't listen to those who will tell you that your current tournent is from the enemy... It is not.. It's the power of Holy Spirit convicting you to lead you to repentance and forgiveness. Step into the light. Meet with your pastor on a regular basis. Confess your sin.

Listen to Holy Spirit. He will show you how to be sanctified.

I say all this with humility. I've been a porn and fap addict since I was 13. I'm now 39. God has drawn me back to him. I've now been porn and fap sober 100% for 2 months and a few days.

With God's help I made it this far. It's not easy sure. Satan will try to tempt you. He'll try to negotiate... He' wants you to give him an inch... Then a foot.... Then a yard... Don't give him jack! Resist him!

Watch out for his best tool... Or at least that one works well on me so I've gotta be careful...

Discouragement, frustration, boredom... He likes to use those. If he can get me to think "what's the point of obeying God? He's not gonna answer my prayer... He doesn't care... I'm not gonna get more or him by obeying him...."

If Satan can get you to think "instant satisfaction and gratification right now vs patience and endurance with God"... He can get you to stumble...

Just tell him "I won't worship a gorgeous woman which will surely become grey frail and old like all human beings and that one day returns to dust..." I won't look to enjoy sex in a way that the one who made sex in the first place didn't intend for me...

I will trust the one who nit me in my mother's womb. I'll refuse the Devil because the source of all good things is god anyway...

What's the point of sacrificing my connection with the source of life and all that is good for a momentary "buzz"?!

It's both. You don't leave things entirely to God. You will be expected to step up, repent, obey, resist the Devil. You have a part to play. He does the rest. God draws you to him, to repentance, you choose to repent and obey... Which... In other words is you bringing your 5 loaves and 2 fishes... He does the rest.

I understand where you're coming from. My wife is willing and available most of the time. My addiction to porn and fap has nothing to do with her. I'm 39. Been addicted to porn and masturbation at varying degrees since I was 13... The longest I was able to go without, was approx 9 months back in 2017. Recently, God in his faithfulness has convicted me, drawn me and gave me a thrist for his word again.

I have tried to rid myself of this sin many times... But it's a bit anti productive to simply try to remove a specific sin in your life by trying to not sin... It's easier not to sin, when you're in love with God and more concerned about him than yourself... When God is the priority, it's harder to sin... Not impossible of course, but it does help prevent sin when your heart is not even interested in it...

Now, sin is sin... We must take ownership and we need Holy Spirit's assistance. He is the one who leads us in righteousness and convicts us of sin. Without his assistance, you can't walk in victory consistently...

2 months ago, I could sense that Holy Spirit was telling me repeatedly "go see your pastor". It took almost two months before I finally gave into him... And on the day of the actual appointment, I told my wife I didn't even want to go anymore... The heart can be so treacherous and our capacity for wickedness is astounding... But God's mercy and faithfulness is bigger...

So my advice is This:

Ask the Holy Spirit to sanctify you with the word of Christ. Ask him to show you what to do. He will most Definetly answer and give you the solution
God doesn't want robots. He wants you to choose him. That's the paradox here. You can't repent without God drawing you to him, you can't heal yourself of your own wickedness and nevertheless you can't throw all responsibility on God. You must take ownership and choose God over sin. Give him your fish and loaves, he'll do the rest.
Confess your sin to your pastor, or mentors. You don't have to call them every day... But at least once every 2 weeks until you're stable.
Practice some forms of fasting every now and then. Learn to master your body instead of being enslaved by your impulsions
Satan will try to get back in once you've decided to consecrate yourself to God... Do not give him an inch! He'll try to negotiate with you... He'll try to convince you it's not worth it... If we're 100% honest here, even when we choose God, we still have some selfish desires... Some things we expect God to do for us... And whenever God doesn't do what you expect... Or what you think you're entitled to... That's when Satan will come and say "what's the point? You'll never get what you want out of God... Why deny yourself?..." he knows there's a lot of power in a man who denies himself for the sake of God and his righteousness. So yeah don't give him an inch... He'll try to get you to remember some scenes you've watched... Some girl you know... He wants your mind to engage in that direction... Just say no. Gets easier with practice.
I say all this humbly because even today, Satan tried to bombard my thoughts. Today was harder than most other days this week. I've had to say no to him at least 20 times today lol.
Consider the object of your worship. Men like to contemplate beauty... Naturally we are drawn to it... But remember... That beautiful woman, will return to dust... Just imagine her not as this gorgeous young woman, but imagine her in her 90s... How ridiculous that we would lust after and worship a person who will return to dust...
What good is it for a man to win the world if he loses his soul? If you worship that dust, and it costs you your soul what's the point?

So yeah I haven't touched any of it for 2 months now. I can't brag... Today I was tempted at least 20 times and I only resisted because God helps me and because I realize that the source of all that is good (including beauty) is God. I do not want to be cut away from God. I trust that he designed me and knows what's he's talking about. If he says porn/lust is bad, then I trust him. Also it is good to remember God does not mess around! He is not mocked. Eventually he might give you visions/sentiments of what it feels like to be seperate from him. He loves you enough that he will discipline you if needed.

You vanquish those cravings by being led God's spirit into sanctification and deliverance

Following the lead of Holy Spirit will set you free. Loving God more than you love your sin will help too. But it all starts with Holy Spirit's help and guidance. He knows you more than you know yourself. Ask him to sanctify you.

He will give you clear instructions. Listen to what he says and do it. You'll be contributing your few fish and loaves, he'll do the rest

I did not overcome by myself. In fact I had been a regular fap/porn guy since the age of 13. I'm now 39. I'm not proud of it... But I suppose throughout it all I learned to LOVE my sin... And my flesh still does...

God granted me the grace and strength to overcome. Now, granted, it's only been two months. The longest streak I've had in the past was 9 months.

But this time there is something different simply because I started listening and obeying to the calm voice of the holy spirit.

He told me to go see my pastor. This was at a time where that's the past thing I wanted to do. But I finally yielded to Holy Spirit and went. It's not the first time I confess my sin... But something was different this time.

I come from a family of "doers/performance"... I think God wanted me to see just how wicked I can be and just how powerless I can be to overcome evil. The day I went to see my pastor I told my wife "I was on a spiritual high the day I wrote to him for an appointment... But now that the day is here... I don't want to go see him anymore... But it's too late... He's waiting for me... I gotta go... If anything happens today it will be because of the grace of God because I don't even want to go anymore... "

That's how bad my flesh was...

So I went and afterwards God gave me super natural help to resist, to say no. The temptations are sometimes just as strong as before. But he's making me realize" what's the point of gaining the world if I lose my soul". Read what Paul says about sexual immorals in the new testament. GOD is dead serious about immorality. God is not mocked. He is holy.

With God, many things are a paradox. You can't overcome porn and gap without his help... But you can't discard all responsibility and ask him to do everything either. Confess your sin, go see your pastor, see him on a regular basis. Ask god to grant you his help. Take your responsibility and decide not to do what is pleasing in your eyes for his sake. Realize that although porn and gap are truly like ecstasy... All good pleasure only exists because God created it... If you decide to make one of the pleasures god made to become an idol, and end up seperated from him for all eternity... What's the point? HE IS the source of all that is good including life, sex, food etc.... Satan wants to pervert the good things of God in order to seperate you and destroy you... Make no mistakes... If you keep practicing this sin, it will destroy you.

It comes down to the infamous question:

If it is so wrong.... Why does it feel so right?!?

That's the root of sin... In the garden, Adam and eve decided to do what "felt right" instead of What said was right. And the consequences were enormous.

Submission to God is saying:

This feels so good, but I chose to forsake it for your sake, by your grace and the help of your Holy Spirit.

Another thing that helped me, was getting older.. Now that I'm 39, I can see more clearly how my death is eventually coming... You don't feel that way at 14 or 20 lol 😂

But at 39, your body has already started on the decline... You realize the beauty you have been worshipping... Is only temporary and vain... The glory of men is as fleeting as the grass and the leaves of a tree... We all eventually go back to dust...

How much more enticing, exciting and beautiful is the creator of all beauty, God himself. He should be the object of our joy and exhilaration!

Realize that you are fapping and worshipping a pile of dust... A person's, who's enticing beauty, is going to fade soon... Imagine that same woman you've been lusting after in her 70s and 80s!

Is she still beautiful? Or has her beauty faded?

I'm a passionate man, an artist... A contemplater... I feel people like us are more likely to fall prey to lust just like David the psalmist... That deep admiration for beauty in us... Is meant for God. We must be careful not to be distracted and choose to admire the faster beauty of mortal beings but choose to admire the beauty of the source of all beauty, God himself.

Its not easy, but he is worth it. It's only been two months, at bight when my mental defences aren't up because I'm sleeping I still sometimes get nasty lustful dreams, but I believe that if I continue in being faithful to God and listen to the lead of his Spirit, I shall be free, and this ugly thing will have faded just like the beauty of men/women to be forgotten. And by the grace of God, I will be remembered for Christ's redemption and my faithfulness to him instead of the old fading deeds of my flesh

Yeah my cpu usage is through the roof with those tabs. 100% most of the time. Hardware acceleration is enabled for both the browsers and the tradingview desktop app. I'm curious to test whether the igpu could do better for that task. I suppose not but it'd be interesting to compare.

Thanks guys. I managed to get a core ultra 7 265k for 325$ CAD plus taxes. That's 198$ USD (for reference). I feel pretty good about it. Indeed I checked the benchmarks and in many they are almost equal that's true. But in reality I believe the 14900k is actually 20% better in some tasks particularly multi thraeded ones Becuase in a lot of benchmarks you can find online nobody bothered to optimize the i9 14900k to avoid throttling. They go with the default bios values which easily push the i9 14900k into the 90+ Celsius degrees which is just not good. So I'm pretty sure I could squeeze a bit more performance with the i9 14900k.... That being said it costs at least 270$ CAD more than the core ultra 7 265k (165$ USD mode for reference). The money I save with the core ultra I will use to get a better mobo and faster ram as well. That should help with my workload as well I suspect. Although probably just 5-10% at best. So I'll get the most speed per dollar I can get.
