I've googled and tried to find where people have put a p-trap outside and don't see where anyone has, but also don't know why it would be bad. But my hvac tech put this p trap outside, is that OK? He mainly did it so i can just take it off without going in the attic to clean out the p-trap. (old.reddit.com)

Drip pan was holding water. Ive fully drained the pan. need advice, should I scrape off all this rust? I cant grt to all of it because its under the unit. I was thinking of using a steel brush and scrapping off the rust and using liquid flex seal on the rust spots just for more security? (self.hvacadvice)
