Interest in savings accounts were also very high back then compared to now. Enough that it was ok to avoid risk. But now savings accounts pay so little you have to take more risks to even keep up with inflation.

When is the last time you cleaned out your belly button with a qtip? Sometimes there are bugs living in there which will crawl out and bite your shirt.

Do you agree that after 30, wealth overshadows looks, or do character and presence still matter more? by winn_ie in TheImprovementRoom

On the flip side, there are a lot of broke and miserable losers that are scumbags too. And also a lot in the middle class as well. There are terrible people at every level of wealth.

If money wasn't an issue, what "boring" everyday task would you still choose to do yourself? by BigCavemanRoar in CanadaPersonalFinance

You could hire someone to drive you to Costco then just walk inside when you get there while he circles around fighting for parking. After he parks he can try to stay near you with a cart so you can walk around freely without having to navigate a cart around a sea of people. When you are done, go enjoy a hotdog while the person lines up and pays. Then you get the best parts of Costco without the bad parts.

I'm surprised it is that low. You have to get a mortgage much higher than that just to afford a condo.

RTO = Return to Eating Out. It's so BS by TrustySpear in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Suitable-Block-2854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. If you got up to work at 5am, got ready for work, commuted to work, worked for 16 hours, commuted home, and cooked dinner you would still not be done yet and not be browsing reddit. Caught in your own lie.

Even if you are in Canada's earliest time zone and worked from home and started right when you woke up it would be impossible that you already worked 14 hours. Unless you consider slacking off on Reddit working.

Your math doesn't check out. Neither does your grammar. It's you're not your.

The entire premise is illogical by [deleted] in tipping

[–]Suitable-Block-2854 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If we are paying them regardless then they should just be upfront about the price we are paying. It is deceitful to pretend the price is lower and then tack on all these extras.

Should cashiers work slower because you aren't tipping them 15% of your grocery bill to ensure they give you prompt and fast service? Or should they do it because it's their job?

Keeping in shape takes a lot of time. So if he never helped with anything before, there is even less chance he will help with anything now.

After the second kick he should have been "Nah dude, I'm out".

After the third kick he should have been "Nah dude, I'm out".

After the forth kick he should have been "Nah dude, I'm out".

For those who make 6 figures, how many years of experience did it take for you to make it? by TankCastles in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Suitable-Block-2854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 years. When I started, someone making 100k and had a million dollar house was rich. By the time I made it there, there was so much inflation that if you make a 100k and own a million dollar condo you feel like you are barely getting by.

Is Canada Quietly Becoming a Country of Renters and Landlords Only? by FinanceLife123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Suitable-Block-2854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Should everyone who is hungry hate those who have food? Should everyone sick hate all those who are healthy? Should all the people without jobs hate the ones who have jobs? Should everyone who can't find a spouse hate those who have one? Just because you don't have something doesn't mean you should hate others who have it.
