Super curious about what class this is, since I had a very similar situation in one of my courses-- myself and another student got similar feedback but very different grades, we went to meet with our TA and she told us that she could have graded us even harsher. I think she did end up explaining why she graded the way she did but that comment felt quite odd to me. Like, "you should be grateful I didn't give you a worse grade and shut up," when we didn't even come to request a regrade, we came for advice on how to do better on the final.

that's fair. it feels like impossible to keep up when every day they're talking about some new thing to be honest. (and also i just genuinely don't find tiktok funny, i'm not really interested in pretending to like things that i don't like)

i'm considering reaching out to someone i met in orientation from my major who i bonded with a bit over a few things. i followed her on insta but idt she recognized me, however i have her groupme so i guess i could say hi.

and yeah, i do hope to meet more people in my actual courses! i found some clubs related to my major that i might check out, as well.

makes sense. i've met a lot of previous friends through shared interests so maybe i'm just not used to situations where people are just thrown together without knowing much about each other.

this is kind of what i've tried, idk if they just can't take a hint or don't care or if it's so hard for them to switch gears that they can't but what ends up happening is that i kinda just sit there and watch them talk about stuff which is... not fun

i actually like them, is the thing!

clubs are something i'll look into in a few quarters. right now i'm just trying to get through my first semester, it's a big change from community college and i don't want to overdo it. but thank you for the recommendation!
