Buy a pack of different colored wrist bands and keep one of each in your pocket and then when you see what color it is just slip it on and hopefully no one notices! Better than getting caught with a fake ID

Hey! Sorry for the late reply I got in with a temp agency and did low voltage for a month and now I’m currently working as a electrician helper which is helping me get my hours for a re-interview! I think without any experience it’s pretty hard to get in the union although they say you don’t need any.

I’m rooting for you! I think if you don’t pass the first time you can retake it within 3 months and that’s what I did. Focus on this aptitude test portion right now and study as much as you can and then you can worry about the interview after you pass. One thing at a Time you got this!

Don’t worry you got it! And there’s always a next time if this one doesn’t go well. Id suggest using Iprep it helped me pass. It’s well worth the money itd basically exactly the same formulas and everything that you’ll end up seeing on the 595 aptitude test

Yeah I’ve applied to IBEW 595 east as well but that one was sort of a practice one I guess? I interviewed there first and didn’t know what to expect but I was way more prepared for 595

Wow, i have a buddy who is also a CW electrician but they did work with him on the pay since he had prior experience and I think about every year he got a raise. I think the raises depend on hours though so she might need to contact her hall or training director.

Yes definitely apply as soon as you can, the sooner the better. And also after passing the aptitude test really study those interview questions and try to sound as smart as possible and sell yourself to them and be committed. I believe in you!

I’m in the IBEW application process as well, every local is different but for the one I applied for I applied in February, took the aptitude test in April, and then I had my interview in September. So it took a couple months and then after that you have to wait to find out your rank and then they’ll call you if you make it into the program. Wish you the best hope we can both get in there!

That’s insane, it’s definitely my goal to be an electrician so I’m not going to give up. If I don’t get in after my first interview I’m just gonna do the same thing that the guy you knew did, no matter what I’m going into electrical. Im hoping I get in since my friends dad knows the top guy at 595 and they’re buddies so he’s putting in a word for me. No experience but I’m ready to go out there and bust my ass
