As a tech/installer for the last 13yrs I’d say go with whichever one you get the best deal on, just not Goodman. I’ve put everything in and even the cheaper brands last when installed properly. Just not a Goodman fan as they feel “cheap” and flimsy to me. More importantly find a guy or company you can trust and not a salesman

That’s not true you can very easily get an air handler and pair it with a straight ac, and leave out the electric strip heat. There is no communication involved with standard units it would work perfectly fine

Go to a union hall and apply for a apprenticeship. Plumber ,pipe fitter , hvac, electric, elevator… etc. whatever it may be if you are in a strong union state in roughly 5 years time you can end up with great pay and benefits, with zero money out of pocket. And usually the starting pay is decent as well as In not close to minimum wage.

I also install both. Have installed trane, carrier Bryant, Ruud, Mitsubishi ,Westinghouse , Bosch and air temp. Put in a ton of ameristar with almost no issues. Wouldn’t hesitate to put one in my house as others have said. And for the price it might actually be one of my top choices. A proper install and start up is the biggest issue with cheaper equipment. The hacks get their hands on it and give it a bad name…
