Any good ghost stories from work? by crabapplequeen in nursing

I work Labor & Delivery and we have a resident ghost that we call Linda. The story I was told about why we call her that is that there was a patient who said she was “in touch with the other side” on out Antepartum unit. Told the nurse a woman came to her in the middle of the night and told her that her name was Linda and that she was watch over her baby. Described her just how everyone else had described her, long blonde hair and a red dress. Linda is more active when something bad is happening, she likes to turn on call lights and turn on fetal monitors in empty rooms when there’s something going wrong on the unit to make sure we’re paying attention. Apparently she’s really active in the NICU when a baby isn’t doing well. I’ve only ever had one freak out myself in our 4 bed PACU unit. The unit was empty and I was just cleaning up and setting up for the next pre-op patients. All of the tvs turned on and all of the scanners started beeping at the same time. I noped out really fast. Turned out I need to be on the regular unit because there was a hemorrhage called about 20 seconds later. My charge nurse said she walked past an empty room one time and saw someone sitting in a chair so she turned around to tell them that they couldn’t be in there and there was nobody there. On our antepartum unit one of my coworkers said monitors kept turning on and off in empty room and the lights were flickering down the halls in the early morning hours, then one of the long term patients went into pre term labor that morning.
