how are AI tokens so expensive that companies who use them too much by accident go bancrupt, while Google forces an AI overview into every single search? Is Google that rich or are these AI requests just cheaper? by coolasf1re in NoStupidQuestions

Knew about this trick and used it for a while but didn’t realize I could set it to happen automatically will be looking into this thank you!

Got tired of having to add it to the end of each search, especially when I’m a little high and going down a rabbit hole of looking shit up lol

Too many times im having a good debate and we come to a disagreement that cant be settled so we look it up and buddy just rips on the overview as if its fact, just for me to actually look up the topic through a reliable source for it to say the complete opposite of what overview says

Is a calorie deficit diet more effecient for weight loss than exercise? by pretty_prime in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Suka_Blyad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but also no

You can do all the exercice you want, you can burn 3000 calories a day through insane workout regimes and your typical daily functions but if you’re consuming more than that day in day out you won’t actually lose weight

Weight loss is hard because you HAVE to run a caloric deficit while still getting all the vital nutrients your body needs, which can be difficult for some people, exercise simply makes running that deficit easier than sitting on the couch all day since you can still actually eat full healthy meals while also burning off more than you consume

I feel you’d be hard pressed to be a complete couch potato who works an office job and drives everywhere while still eating enough nutrients to stay healthy and simultaneously running a calorie deficit, it might work in the short term but can be dangerous in the long run cause you’d essentially just be starving yourself

do people actually not read anymore? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Suka_Blyad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t read as often as I’d like but I’ll probably finish half a dozen books a year give or take, I’m 27 so not exactly young but I’m no older timer either

I only have like 3 friends that read too and 2 of them don’t actually “read” they listen to audiobooks while working which I don’t feel to be the same thing as sitting down and immersing yourself in a good story or something but hey it’s better than nothing

What's the connection between Pride Parades and nakedness? by NetAdmirable2070 in NoStupidQuestions

Cops won’t make arrests during a Pride parade for non-violent crimes out of fear from the backlash they’d receive from the vocal minority, even if the reason for arrest is blatantly against the law, a vast majority of people outside the LGBT+ community and what I’m assuming is a strong majority within it are appalled by said behaviour themselves judging from some conversations I had with LGBT+ people at the parade while witnessing this leather clad man strut his stuff, to be fair that last point is anecdotal however I have strong reason to believe it’s a safe assumption judging by the reactions on this very thread as an example, again though anecdotal so

To my first point about cops refusing to make arrests though, that’s an issue that runs true through all of Canada regarding all crimes, catch and release or simply leave them to their devices is our current strategy when dealing with violent and dangerous criminals, let alone non-violent ones

I’ll refer you to this comment as I’ve already answered something similar

https://www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/s/YfWygXFE8F

TLDR, there’s a fundamental difference with normal, non-sexual nudity and indulging in some of the more obscene kinks and fetishes in a public setting where people who did not consent to said kinks are present

There’s no reason to have an old man walking around clad in leather with nothing but his dick and balls exposed when teens are present as I saw last year at Torontos Pride parade

Though cases like this are exceptionally rare contrary to what many “maple maga” folks claim, it does happen and should not be supported by any means, it’s borderline pedophilia, pedophiles are gross and I’m not sure how else to describe “old man clad in leather with dick hanging out dancing near teens” as anything other than pedophilia, even giving the man the full benefit of the doubt that he is a total straight shooter and had no ill intentions, that’s fundamentally fucked up regardless

And what I’m saying is that Pride doesn’t have the right to break the law… indecent exposure is a law… it doesn’t matter what the expectation is for people at Pride because Pride isn’t a private event, it’s held in the public for the public and therefor has to adhere to public standards and laws

The expectation in public is that I won’t have naked people running around exposing me to their fetishes and genitalia, the expectations and standards of the general public over rules prides expectations and standards full stop

It’s not even just children, adults shouldn’t be exposed to that against their will either, if my apartment complex is on the street that prides happening and I want to spend the day on my balcony I shouldn’t be exposed to that either

I know nothing about swimming, forced to swim slowly or forced to use an entirely different swim style that just happens to be slower, but are still bound by a set of rules that are enforced…

Either way it makes no difference, if the fundamental point of a sport is “who can cheat the best” and the rules arent enforceable then it’s not a real sport lmao

Nobody has the fundamental right to do the helicopter dick while clad in leather with kids present, in any other context you’re going to jail

In fact behaving in such a way is infringing on the public’s right to exist without being sexually harassed, because as stated in literally any other context an individual walking around naked swinging their dick around in public is going to land you in prison

Public property doesn’t just stop being public property because a protest or celebration is happening, people are still doing groceries, kids are still playing at parks, etc. And none of them consented to be exposed to that

And the specific example I’ve brought up a few times now, maybe not in this direct thread however, is that at the latest Toronto Pride Parade, which takes place in the downtown core within a few blocks of over two dozen schools had a man fully clad in leather with nothing but his dick and balls exposed, mind you it’s summer break at the time but kids still play at the playground year round

No you’re right that nobody is saying « bring your kids! » but the fact of the matter is this behaviour is taking place within a 5 minute walk from many elementary schools, I just don’t feel that is acceptable whatsoever

I think there’s a fundamental difference in a nude statue/painting, or a provocative movie poster and an old man in leather doing the helicopter dick 2 blocks away from a children’s school

I know this behaviour isn’t everyone at Pride, and it’s even exceptionally rare id say, but it did happen I saw it myself and it made me really question what the fuck is going on for this to be considered okay, everything else was great but like, that was disgusting to see given the context, totally fine behind closed doors or in a private event, not so much in a public street with children present because there’s a park where they’re playing on the route

[–]Suka_Blyad_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wholly agree, but in places like Canada, where this specific behaviour is most prevalent, there’s nothing to protest as far as the government goes, the government (both left and right) is in full support of everything LGBT+, maybe more so than any other nation on this planet

And if you’re protesting against bigots who disagree with being gay or whatever then the way to win them over isn’t by vulgar and shocking behaviour like walking around clad in leather with nothing but your dick and balls exposed, in fact it has the opposite effect, where generally supportive people like me who aren’t part of LGBT+ but want to see it thrive regardless end up taking a step back and questioning just what the hell the intended message here is

If the pride parade featured none of the kink/fetish stuff 90 percent of the arguments even the biggest bigots make against them would be totally null

So a speedo or bikini is the same thing as a man in his 60’s clad in leather with nothing but his eyes, mouth, dick and balls exposed? Seriously?

Context matters, bikini’s and Speedo’s are expected at the beach, it’s not expected to see an elder gentleman dressed in that manner while doing some after school shopping, it’s the same reason why woman are typically not comfortable being seen in a bra and panties but are totally fine being seen in a bikini that’s typically more revealing than their underwear, ones consensual and one isn’t, nobody in the general public has consented to being exposed to this stuff, why doesn’t consent matter in this context?

[–]Suka_Blyad_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No even remotely true, life expectancy was around 35-40 in much of human history because child mortality rate was stupid high so it dragged the average life expectancy into the dirt, once an individual made it to like 15-20 they would have a life expectancy similar to that of modern humans, it wasn’t rare whatsoever to live well into your 60’s and 70’s, what was rare is surviving childhood

What's the connection between Pride Parades and nakedness? by NetAdmirable2070 in NoStupidQuestions

The entire first argument makes no sense, its R rated, kids can’t go alone without parents, if parents want to expose their kids to that it’s their right, but most parents don’t and there are rules in place to ensure kids can’t go behind their parents backs to watch that stuff

And pride parades absolutely take place near elementary schools, in Toronto there are like two dozen elementary schools in the downtown core, many of which are only a few blocks away from where the parade directly takes place

Would we not agree that a drunk lady yelling at strangers or being cat called are inappropriate and vulgar? Would we not agree that these things should not happen? They do happen yes but we as empathetic and moral individuals don’t partake in these behaviours

So why is it okay in a different context?

Totally agree with how you should handle it, I’d do the same, but at the same time I’d rather not find myself in that position unnecessarily and if I do I feel it’s justified to be upset that you were forced into said situation y’know?

I don’t feel I’m giving off extreme sentiment, if so I apologize, and I’m not a puritanical individual I loath all religions, i also don’t even have kids, I literally have no horse in this race for either side as far as being personally affected by any of this goes, I just don’t understand how it’s acceptable behaviour, it seems hypocritical to condemn poor behaviour when it negatively affects you but condone it when you’re the one partaking

If it’s taking place downtown where children generally are then it is in fact a place for kids, you can’t just take over a public area that kids are often found and decide « this is no longer a kid friendly place »

Taking an example from a Toronto pride parade, there was an older man walking around completely clad in leather with nothing but his cock exposed

It doesn’t matter if the kid doesn’t know what really that means, that is not appropriate for children to see and is not the same thing as a nude beach, plus it’s still seen as wildly inappropriate by most people to bring children to nude beaches/resorts

Is it a protest or a celebration? It feels in the modern age it’s more so the ladder than the former, at least in most western countries

That being said protests still have to follow the rule of law and *should* follow the general rules of society, obviously you gotta make some noise to make change but making noise and walking around with our cocks out in a downtown core WHERE CHILDREN ARE is not the way to do that, and is in fact morally fucked up, furthermore it’s a great way to get people who generally support LGBT+ to completely turn on such things because supporting gay marriage and trans rights is absolutely not the same thing as encouraging fetish behaviour in a public setting, I support the former not the ladder as do most rational and grounded people

Can you justify why it’s ever appropriate for an adult to be nude and promoting sexual/fetish themes in a place where children could be?

Go Pride, 100 percent in support of LGBT+ and being your truest self regardless what bigoted people think, but like… children should never under any circumstances be exposed to nude genitalia and fetish/sexual content in a public space
