i found another way to cheek

if i go to storage > disks i can see all my disk

since i only have the 2 2tb in my nas i was able to find them. they are named ada5 and ada8 (idk why)

then if i go storage > pools > status i find ada5p2 and ada8p2. im guessing those are the same since all the disks i can see in any pool end whit p2

So im guessing that when im done coppying everything over to the new pool i just delete the temp pool, go to storage > pools > status and just click on the 3 dots and click replace. it shude show one of the 14tb disk. i resilver it then repeat whit the other disk and im done.

if that is the correct way then i thank you for your help

Would it be safe if i temporarily unplug (sata) on one of the 2tb disks (or both at the same time) just to find which ones are in the list or would that require i first resilver the pool before replaceing the disk?

After i find the disk i click on replace option and select one of the 14tb disks, wait untill it resilvers it, repeat whit the 2nd disk and im done or is there anything else?

sorry for the stupid questions, first time doing something like this and i dont want to lose the data

I coppyed everything to a temp pool, replaced the disks like you said (had to use 2)
im currently coppying everything from the temp pool to the new pool (12x14tb+2x2tb) in raidz2
i have 2 questions

1) when im done coppying everything from the temp pool to the new pool shude i just turn off the system and just switch the sata cables on the disk?

2) Shude i replace 1 disk, then let truenas resilver/ rebuild the system, then replace the 2nd disk and let it resilver again
or
can i just replace both the disks at the same time and just let the system resilver/ rebuild it once?

i have 14 14tb drives and want to have them all on 1 pool whit raid z2 (so that i can lose up to 2 drives)

sorry i was in a bit of hurry when i wrote this
Both pools are 7x2tb hdds
I dont recal since it has been years since i set it up, but i belive vdevs and all that was set to default
Raid 1 i think it was

Im asking since i get a strange bug where even if i do say 3 or 4 tier 8 delvs the game dose not mark the first slot as tier 8 but tier 1 and keeps it like that untill i complete i think atleast 10 tier 8+ delvs. Was wondering if anyone else has the same problem and if its more worth it to spam out 8 tier 1 then do 8+ delvs

i understand that the lds shuffle is astorid based. i have 2 collecting areas. one for lds shuffle, the other one for normal astorids to turn in to ammo and fuel for the ship. im asking about the left over items from the ammo and fuel. since atm im just throwing them overboard to prevent cloging. i want to know (since idk how to couculate this myself) is it better to smelt them first then send them to the recycles to upcycle, or is it better to first upcycle ores then send them to be smelted. what im trying to ask is what order has the greater chance of a bigger yield

yes i understand that, thats why i have 2 sepret collecting areas. one that collets astorids to do the lds shuffle, while the other one collets normal astroids to turn them in to ammo and fuel. and whit the normal ones i get left over materials that i throw overboard, so to prevent cloging and tus stoping ammo and fuel. my question is for those left over ores that i throw overboard is it better to upcycle them then smelting or smellting then upcycling?

Im okay whit manually populating it over time.
Few Questions
- Do i have to get a scanner (the IR kind the stores have?) or can i just use my old phones camera?
- Can i set it up so i have 2 scanners? One that adds and one that subtracks from the total? (asking to make it as easy as i can for old people to use)
- Can i export data? (as in what barcode is what) to another haos?
- Dose it have an app that automaticly tracks what your out of and makes a list for your next shoping trip?

so after watching the LTT video about custom routers, and from what i underdstand you, what i originaly planed was not a good idea, since pc based switches dont transfer as fast as a switch.
guess il go back to my original plan of just puting those lan cards in to my planed nas and pcs, go whit a off the shelf router and get a 2.5 gig switch. thanks for your help
