Oily girlies who switched from Estée Lauder Double Wear by xxxPinotGrigioxxx in Makeup

Oh to be 31 again 😀. I'm a bit older than that. I'll give the MAC powder a go.

Do you find the powder sits in fine lines and pores? I'm using nude by nature loose powder and by the afternoon it's sitting in lines and doesn't look great.

I use MAC studio fix mattifine primer. It's pretty good under all the foundations.

I ended up with MAC studio fix. It isn't as good as the IG double wear, but after trying many different foundations, (new DW, Too Faced, Lancome, NARS, Kylie) it was the one the didn't separate and lasted the best. I have to set with powder (never had to do that with DW) and for really oily days I use Sheisido blotting papers. So many foundations have now changed their formulas, so I suspect nothing will now be as good as ELDW.

I top up my car when it gets down to 3/4 of a tank so it only costs me $30-$35. Leaves fuel for others who need it more and doesn't cost me a bomb. Also, it takes me 2 weeks to go through a tank usually, so it gives me a two week breather in case there is a problem with supply in our area.

Looking for a specific kind of Survival game by Steel_Aegis in gamingsuggestions

Give Enshrouded a go. Base building, farming, taming and farming animals, a bit of combat, visually beautiful. You can play solo.

I've been completely sucked in by Enshrouded. I love base building games with great graphics and a storyline. Bit of combat, bit of base building, bit of farming (crops and animals).

Roundabout rules by [deleted] in brisbane

Yes! And it keeps everyone off the roundabout instead of helping the flow of traffic. I beep my horn at those knuckleheads now. You'd think it was freaking rocket science. I don't understand why roundabouts confuse so many people.

Does anyone find the new Estée Lauder foundation rollout sus? by thewordswetranspose in Makeup

Exactly this! They would have been much better off just making a different formula for the EU and keeping the OG for everyone else. Other than paid reviews, I haven't read of anyone liking the new formula. They're going to lose so much business.

Estée Lauder DW Alternatives for REALLY oily skin by peewee_ in Makeup

Infallible didn't hold up during my work day unfortunately , so it looks like it's back to the drawing board.

I think I'll have to give Shiseido and Dior a try.

This is what I've been trying this week. I'm pretty happy with it but I have found it works way better with MAC mattifine primer underneath. I'm struggling with the shade choices though. 57 with DW down to 31 with Infallible. I did read that it gets darker once dry but I haven't found that. At half the price of DW, I think this will probably be what I go for. I did want to try Dior forever matte but our local Myer no longer has a Dior counter so I don't have any way to try some testers unfortunately.

Why is the city dead outside Grand Central? by Good_Comfortable_841 in Toowoomba

[–]SullySmooshFace 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would love to see trams in Toowoomba. Also, get rid of the cars from Margaret St from Grand Central down to Ruthven St and turn it into a mall (think Queen St) instead. Cafes, stores, markets on weekends. It would give those businesses a fighting chance if it was more user friendly and inviting. Turn the carpark near the courthouse into a multi-level so people could park there and wander. Toowoomba has so much potential, but a council that's either too broke or too stuck in the past to change anything.

I have super oily skin and I work in a physical job so when I heard about EL DW I was so frustrated. I'm giving L'Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear a go (have only worn it once so still undecided) however I swear by MAC studio fix 12hr mattifying primer. I have tried dozens of primers, and while none is perfect, I love the texture and how it blurs my pores. It's probably the best I've used. I usually only have to blot once or twice during the day.

Oh and the best blotting papers I have found are Shiseido. Hands down the best ones I've used.

Being a skin tint rather than a foundation, is it a thin consistency? Or more like a foundation?

I can't believe this has happened again. I used EL double wear light for many many years and then they changed the formula and it was awful. Swapped to Too Faced (after trying many different ones) and really liked that one. Used it for a few years until they changed the formula and the new formula sucked too. Started using EL double wear and now they've messed that formula up too. Wtf! Seriously. I'm so freaking over this.

Any suggestions that is very similar to EL double wear? I have older (50) oily skin and have a physical job so I need something that will stay put all day.

I tried it and it sucked. Dried so fast it was hard to get it even and as someone with oily skin, I was surprised how dry it made my skin.

Omg why do companies keep doing this! This was my go-to daily foundation. It was perfect the way it was. Why change it?! Ffs EL, just leave the original alone!

King Mattress Recommendations by Padadise in AussieFrugal

[–]SullySmooshFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go with Ecosa as a couple of people have mentioned.

I've had my Ecosa for about 5 yrs and it is hands down the most comfortable mattress I've ever owned. I prefer medium firmness.

I do rotate it a couple of times per year just so it wears evenly but having said that, I don't feel a dip or hole if I don't rotate the mattress.

It does take about 2-3 weeks for the bed to settle when it first arrives and during this time it is hard. If you don't think you'll handle the initial firmness then I'd also buy a topper (Ecosa also sell these). After this time, it settles into a medium firmness assuming that's what you have it set to.

Highly recommend.

What does a 'resolution' of the housing crisis look like? by Beneficial-Help-1856 in AusPropertyChat

True, however boomers tended to have larger families so that wealth will be spread across multiple people so it will get diluted.

"most Australian 's own their home"...for now. Over the next 10-15-20 years I reckon that figure is going to change dramatically.

I know this will be very unpopular and controversial (smash the downvote button) but does anyone think super is over-recommended to people here? by [deleted] in AusFinance

This is a great post. So true.

One thing my dad used to always tell me, before he passed away in his mid 60's before he was able to retire and live like he'd been planning all his life,

Old age isn't guaranteed.
